OVERVIEW
This 1962 Ford Thunderbird Hardtop has been with the same family for 45 years and features a newer paint job and interior. It is powered by a rebuilt 390cid V8 backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include factory air conditioning, a Custom Autosound AM/FM stereo with a trunk-mounted six-disc CD changer, a power antenna, power windows, power steering and brakes, and custom taillights. Finished in Durango Copper over a Light Pearl Beige vinyl interior, this Thunderbird comes with the removed original parts detailed below and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The reportedly rust-free body received a body-off color change to Durango Copper five years ago. Features include a chrome front bumper, a chrome grille, a 1961 Thunderbird hood, a driver-side mirror, color-matched rear wheel skirts, a power antenna, a color-matched rear bumper, and custom 1963 Thunderbird taillights with 1959 Cadillac bullet-style inserts.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of 14-inch steel wheels with custom tri-bar 1970s Lincoln hub caps is wrapped in whitewall radial tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The front seats and the rear seat have been upholstered in Light Pearl Beige vinyl. Features include power steering, power windows, new floor mats, a column-mounted automatic transmission shifter, a center console with a locking compartment, factory air conditioning, and a new Custom Autosound AM/FM stereo with a trunk-mounted six-disc CD changer and new speakers.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A 120-mph speedometer, a clock, and gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 8,375 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a 390cid V8 that was rebuilt when the body was repainted and is backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. Engine bay features include chrome valve covers, an aluminum intake manifold, and a chrome air cleaner. The seller states that the factory air conditioning is not working and the belt has been removed. A video of the engine running can be seen below.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Thunderbird was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by power four-wheel drums. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear through chrome tips.

@carlb – Can you share with us the information concerning the fuel system that is currently on this Thunderbird? Would you be willing to have the a/c system repaired or replaced to have it working properly? Have you had the A/C system diagnosed and received a diagnosis report with an estimated cost for repairs? Are there any other components, parts, or repairs needed for this Thunderbird as of right now or it’s near future that you are aware of? ...
Just regular gas. I bought this TBird from a family estate in Vancouver, (Canada), I asked the same question about the A/C, she indicated because of our weather here in the NW it was not needed, and was turned off at some point. The owner keep very good care of his car and very creative in the paint color and detail on rims/lights/sound system, etc throughout. All good on driving and no known repairs needed.
