Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This Coyote V8-upgraded 1966 Ford Bronco pickup received complete frame-off restoration in 2019 along with the installation of a Ford Performance Gen 2 crate 5.0-liter V8 backed by a 4R70 four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a Wild Horses suspension upgrade, Wilwood front disc brakes, Vintage Air climate control, and a custom center console with an iPad dock. Finished in tri-tone silver, charcoal, and orange over a black vinyl interior, this modified first-generation Bronco is now offered with build documentation and British Columbia registration in the seller’s name.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The rust-free exterior came out of restoration in 2019 after being recoated in a Billet Silver, Charcoal, and Inferno Orange paint color scheme. Features include JW Speaker 8700 LED headlights, chrome bumpers, fender flares, side mirrors, custom bumper filler panels, a fuel filler relocation system, and bedliner lining inside the cargo box. There is a stone chip on the hood per the seller.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

Polished aluminum Ion 17-inch wheels are wrapped in Toyo Open Country 285/70 tires at all four corners.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The cab is trimmed with black vinyl bucket seats, and features include Vintage Air climate control, an Ididit tilt-adjustable steering column, tinted windows, and a custom fabricated center console with an iPad dock.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

Dakota Digital instrumentation replaces the original gauge set and includes a 160-mph speedometer, an 8,000-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer reads 1,010 miles, which is indicative of mileage accrued since restoration and drivetrain installation. True mileage on the chassis is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The upgraded Gen 2 Coyote 5.0-liter V8 was crate-sourced from Ford Performance and features a Ron Davis aluminum radiator, a Derale transmission cooler, a Centech wiring harness, a 23-gallon fuel tank, BC Broncos ceramic-coated headers, and a Magnaflow exhaust system. Torque is fed to all four wheels via a 4R70 four-speed automatic transmission, a twin-stick shifter, and a Sonnax line pressure booster kit. Traction is provided by a Dana 44 front differential, a Tom Woods custom driveshaft, and a new Ford nine-inch TrueTrac rear end with 4:55 gearing. There are inspection covers on the stainless-steel inner fenders for access. Service in spring 2023 included an oil change and an air conditioning system service.

UNDERCARRIAGE

The underbody uses a Wild Horses 3.5-inch suspension system and a two-inch body lift, while the steering system is upgraded with a Tom’s Offroad close-ratio steering box. Stopping power comes from Hydro boost power brakes with Wilwood 17-inch discs up front and drums in the rear. There are some stone chips on the suspension components, and the underbody is coated in bedliner material.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The sale includes build documentation.

Good morning, posted a short startup clip for all of you watching. It’s raining here so I didn’t take her out for a drive video.
