OVERVIEW
This 1997 Chevrolet K1500 Silverado 4x4 is a Centurion-customized extended-cab pickup that went through a recent $8,000 mechanical overhaul that included rebuilding the Vortec 5.7-liter V8, four-speed automatic transmission, dual-range transfer case, and rear end. Accessories include a color-keyed shell, a brush guard, Chevrolet Avalanche captain’s chairs, and a trailer braking setup. Finished in burgundy over a beige leather interior, this fourth-generation Chevrolet C/K-series pickup is now offered by the selling dealer with its removed original front seats, service records, a clean CARFAX report, and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The burgundy exterior is accented with full-length graphics and matched by a camper shell with sliding side windows. Additional features include chrome bumpers, a brush guard, daytime running lights, a hood deflector, a windshield visor with clearance lights, smoked side window visors, tow mirrors, Centurion badging, contrasting fender flares, clear aftermarket taillights, a sliding rear cab window, and a hitch receiver. The seller adds that there have been some rust repairs performed on the bottom of the doors. In addition, there is corrosion present on the bumpers. Specific blemishes are shown in the gallery to the right.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Polished aluminum 15-inch aftermarket wheels are wrapped in newer 33x12.50 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 raised-white-letter tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior of the cab is fitted with leather power-adjustable captain’s chairs sourced from a Chevrolet Avalanche pickup, separated by a center console with dual cup holders. The original bench remains in the extended cab. Features include rubber floor mats, woodgrain veneer trim, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, power windows, power door locks, a newer AM/FM/CD audio system, air conditioning, remote start, a trailer brake controller, power steering, cruise control, and an overhead console.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a 100-mph speedometer, a 6,000-rpm tachometer, and supplementary gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The six-digit mechanical odometer reads 142,479 miles, which is in line with the most recent figure of 131,169 miles recorded on the CARFAX report in 2017.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The Vortec 5.7-liter V8 was rebuilt and equipped with a new radiator, battery, starter, power steering pump, and water pump within the last 100 miles. Factory ratings for this engine were 250 horsepower and 335 lb-ft of torque. Power is channeled to all four wheels via a rebuilt four-speed automatic transmission and a rebuilt dual-range transfer case.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The brakes and steering gearbox have been replaced. Stopping power comes from power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The CARFAX report begins in 1997 and shows accident-free ownership in Wisconsin since new. The sale includes service records as well as the truck’s original front seats. A video has been provided that shows the exterior, engine bay, and interior.
