OVERVIEW
This 1982 Chevrolet Corvette Collector Edition is one 6,759 produced to mark the end of the third generation of the Corvette. It is powered by fuel-injected L83 5.7-liter V8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission and was reportedly kept by the prior owner for 30 years. Equipment includes power steering, power disc brakes, power windows, removable glass roof panels, and special multi-colored upholstery. Finished in Silver Beige Metallic over a silver-beige and gray leather interior, this final-year C3 Corvette is now offered by the selling dealer with a roof panel storage bag, a clean CARFAX report, and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The Silver Beige Metallic (code 59) exterior is accented with pin striping and complementary side gradient striping extending rearward from the fender vents. Features include pop-up headlights, removable glass roof panels, sport mirrors, a rear hatch window, an antenna, quad taillights, a dual exhaust system, and an integrated rear spoiler.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Turbine-style 15-inch aluminum wheels are wrapped in older 255/60 Goodyear Eagle GTII raised-white-letter tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cabin is appointed with dual silver-beige leather high-back bucket seats with multi-colored gradient inserts, matched to the door panels, dash, center console, carpeting, and floor mats. Amenities include a power-adjustable driver seat, a tilt steering column, power windows, air conditioning, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a radio, power steering, power door locks, and cruise control.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes an 85-mph speedometer, a 7,000-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 35,736 miles, but the true mileage on the chassis is unknown. The most recent mileage reading of 27,300 miles was logged on the CARFAX report in 1986.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The Cross-Fire fuel-injected L83 5.7-liter V8 was rated at 200 horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque when new. Service was performed recently per the selling dealer. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a console-shifted four-speed automatic transmission.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Stopping comes from power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes. The selling dealer states that the master cylinder, calipers, and pads were replaced in July.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The CARFAX report begins in 1986 and shows accident-free ownership in Nebraska and Wisconsin; the most recent entry was in 2010. The sale includes a storage bag for the removable glass roof panels. The dealer has provided a walk-around video showing the exterior, the interior, and the engine at idle.
