This 1983 Toyota Trailblazer 4x4 is one of 400 units converted by Griffith and is often referred to as the prototype of the 4Runner. Finished in black with gray accent striping over a two-tone black and white leather, this example is powered by a 2.4-liter inline-4 paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. Modifications from stock include a 4” suspension lift, Mickey Thompson wheels, and auxiliary lighting. This Trailblazer has been with the seller for seven years and is offered with a clean CARFAX report and a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.
The pickup-turned-SUV body is clad in black with accent stripes running from fender to fender, a matching unremovable top, 5-bar grille, rear tube bumper, and dual auxiliary lighting atop the cab.
Aftermarket Mickey Thompson polished aluminum wheels are wrapped in 33” raised-white-letter Kanda Klever A/T tires, which are accommodated by a 4” suspension lift. A skid plate is mounted up front.
A Griffith Limited Edition placard is the centerpiece of the two-tone interior. Bucket seats and door panels are covered in custom black and white leather, and a woodgrain applique accents the dash. Modifications and upgrades consist of cross-drilled aluminum pedals, AM/FM stereo with door-mounted speakers, and aftermarket rubber floor mats. A bench seat with a lap belt is located in the rear.
Instrumentation includes an 85-mph speedometer, 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The 6-digit odometer reads 176k original miles. Additional gauges for oil and battery life are fixed beneath the dash.
Power comes from the factory 22R 2.4-liter inline-4, which is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and 2-speed transfer case.
Additional photos showing the underside are available in the gallery.
The sale includes an owner’s manual.
