RESERVE REMOVED: 383-POWERED 1941 CHEVROLET SPECIAL DELUXE 5-PASSENGER COUPE

OVERVIEW

This modified 1941 Chevrolet Special Deluxe 5-Passenger Coupe was reworked to incorporate shaved door handles, a one-piece hood, power steering, power front disc brakes, and a dual exhaust system. It is powered by a 383cid stroker small-block V8 mated to a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission and received maintenance within the last year. Finished in red over a black vinyl interior, this customized Master Deluxe is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The red exterior was repainted under prior ownership and is said to be driver-quality. Features include a color-matched grille, a one-piece hood, chrome headlight rings, molded fenders, a two-piece windshield, shaved door handles with remote poppers, and a dual rectangular-outlet exhaust system.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

American Racing Torq Thrust 15-inch polished aluminum wheels are wrapped in 165/80 Nexen and Nankang front and 225/70 Goodyear Eagle GTII rear tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The interior is fitted with black vinyl bucket seats up front and a bench in the rear, matched to the door panels, dash, lap belts, and carpeting. Features include power steering, a center console, an aftermarket wood steering wheel, cup holders, and trunk mounting points for the battery and aluminum fuel cell.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

AutoMeter instrumentation has replaced the factory gauges and includes a 120-mph speedometer, a 10,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads about 5,500 miles, but the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The 383cid stroker small-block V8 received an oil change and a new power steering pump this year; the battery has a 2021 date code. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a column-shifted TH400 three-speed automatic transmission.

UNDERCARRIAGE

Stopping is performed by power-assisted front disc and rear drum brakes.
