OVERVIEW
This 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback 2+2 was repainted under prior ownership and receives power from a reportedly numbers-matching A-code 289cid V8 backed by a C4 three-speed automatic transmission. It is equipped with power front disc brakes, power steering, and an AM/FM radio. Finished in Emberglo over a two-tone Medium Emberglo and Parchment vinyl interior, this first-generation Mustang is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The Emberglo (code V) exterior was repainted under prior ownership and features chrome brightwork, fog lamps, dual side mirrors, rocker decals, louvered sail panels, a GT-branded fuel cap, and a trumpet-style dual exhaust system that exits through the rear valance.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Magnum 500-style wheels with black outer lips are wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A raised-white-letter tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The "Pony" interior is fitted with two-tone Medium Emberglo and Parchment (code 64) vinyl low-back bucket seats up front, dual seats in the rear, and matching door panels. Features include woodgrain trim, a padded dash, rubber floor mats, an AM/FM radio, manual-crank windows, lap belts, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, power steering, and a vinyl trunk mat. The selling dealer notes that the floor panels appear to have been replaced from the firewall to the back of the trunk pan.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer flanked by gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. An auxiliary 8,000-rpm tachometer is mounted to the steering column. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 97,434 miles, which the selling dealer reports to be accurate.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The dealer believes the A-code 289cid V8 is the car's original engine. Fuel is supplied by a four-barrel carburetor. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted C4 three-speed automatic transmission. A safety inspection has been performed by the dealer.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Stopping comes from power-assisted disc brakes up front and drums in the rear.
