1967 Ford Mustang Convertible 289

OVERVIEW

This recently restored 1967 Ford Mustang convertible is powered by a rebuilt 289cid V8 backed by an FMX three-speed automatic transmission. Features include power steering, power front disc brakes, a Vintage Air climate control system, a RetroSound AM/FM stereo, a power antenna, Intellitronix digital gauges with a GPS speedometer, new carpeting and upholstery, and LED headlights. Finished in LeMans Blue and equipped with a power white vinyl convertible top over a black vinyl interior, this Mustang comes with restoration documentation and a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

Originally finished in Nightmist Blue (code K), the exterior was repainted LeMans Blue and clear-coated during the restoration completed in the summer of 2023. Features include chrome bumpers, a Deluxe hood with LED turn signals, hood pins, LED headlights, a new windshield, dual rearview mirrors with integrated LED turn signals, a power antenna, a power white vinyl convertible top, rocker moldings, and rear body trim.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 15" x 7" aluminum American Racing Torq Thrust D wheels is wrapped in new 225/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The front bucket seats and the rear seats have been reupholstered in black vinyl. Features include manual windows, an aluminum three-spoke sport steering wheel, Vintage Air climate controls, a floor-mounted automatic transmission shifter, and a RetroSound digital AM/FM stereo.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A set of Intellitronix gauges that includes a digital GPS speedometer, a tachometer, and readouts for the fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature is located in a new gauge cluster. With 100 miles added during the seller's two-year ownership, the odometer reads 150 miles. The true mileage on this car is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by the reportedly original 289cid V8 and backed by an FMX three-speed automatic transmission. The professionally rebuilt engine includes a new oil pump, timing chain, water pump, seals, bearings, pistons, an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an aluminum intake manifold, a billet aluminum distributor, and 8-mm spark plug wires. Engine bay features include aluminum valve covers, a new aluminum radiator, an electric fan, and a K&N air filter with a chrome housing.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Mustang was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by new power front discs and rear drums. A new dual exhaust system exits at the rear. Newly installed parts include the front-end suspension components, rear air shocks, rear axle seals, and all wheel bearings. The underbody has been sprayed with 3M Body Schutz rubberized coating.
