OVERVIEW
This 1965 Plymouth Barracuda fastback is powered by an upgraded 360cid V8 backed by a TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission. Features include bucket seats, a center console, and power steering. Finished in garnet red over a black vinyl interior, this Barracuda comes from the selling dealer with a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The reportedly rust-free exterior was refinished in burgundy red under previous ownership. Features include chrome bumpers, a chrome grille, dual rearview mirrors, wheel well and rocker trim, and a chrome locking fuel cap. The selling dealer states that wrinkles are present in the paint by the vent under the wipers.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of 14-inch Mopar Rallye wheels is wrapped in Firestone Wide Oval redline bias-ply tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cabin is furnished with black vinyl bucket seats and a matching fold-down rear seat surrounded by matching door panels and black trim. Features include manual windows, power steering, a center console-mounted automatic transmission shifter, and a push-button radio.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A 120-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, and alternator are located ahead of the driver. The three Sunpro gauges under the dashboard show the coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The original six-cylinder engine was replaced with a 360cid V8 that is connected to a rebuilt carburetor, newer fuel lines, and a TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Barracuda was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by manual four-wheel drums. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear. A video of the undercarriage can be found below.
@MichaelLee – Nice Barracuda.. I know you don't have much info. about the engine, but I believe Chrysler and AMC shared the same 360V8 and Torqueflite. Is it a two- or four-barrel carb and do you know if the carb is original to the engine or aftermarket? Thanks! 🙂 ...
Hello! I just spoke to the seller and he confirmed that it is a 2-barrell carb. However, it is unknown if it is original or aftermarket. Thank you for your question and Happy Bidding!

@dasmoose – Overview Statement: This 1965 Plymouth Barracuda fastback is powered by an upgraded 360cid V8 backed by a TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission. Where was engine & transmission acquired from ? What upgrades had or were performed on each ? Rebuilding carburetor ? When was the change made: Date and Mileage reading at the time ? ...
We are not sure what the motor came out of. It was this way when purchased.
several key questions are listed below...Where is the reply??? Doesn't say much about the owner who doesn't answer possible buyers questions. Really makes one question how much is fact or what you may be trying to hide, hence stay away from this one.
Gorgeous car, honestly my favorite body style of all the cuda's I hope she goes to a good home!
