ZZ4-POWERED 1957 CHEVROLET BEL AIR 4-DOOR SEDAN

OVERVIEW

This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air received a new hand-stitched interior, power four-wheel disc brakes, and other upgrades as part of a restoration. It is powered by a ZZ4 355cid V8 crate engine backed by a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission. Features include air conditioning, a tilt steering column, power steering, an AM/FM/Bluetooth stereo, and a lowered suspension. Finished in metallic blue over a black and gray leather and suede-like microfiber interior, this Bel Air comes from the selling dealer with a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

During the frame-on restoration, the body was finished in metallic blue. Features include chrome bumpers and grille, a fender-mounted antenna, dual rearview mirrors, Bel Air trim, and accessory door handle scratch guards.

A set of 15-inch chrome Cragar wheels are wrapped in Cooper radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The cabin is furnished with front bucket seats and a matching rear seat upholstered in black and gray leather and suede-like microfiber, surrounded by gray and black door panels and trim. Features include manual windows, a tilt steering column, a three-spoke steering wheel with a wood rim, a floor-mounted automatic transmission shifter, an AM/FM/Bluetooth digital stereo, and new black carpeting.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 120-mph speedometer, a 10,000-rpm AutoMeter tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 68,240 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a ZZ4 355cid V8 crate engine and backed by a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission. According to the selling dealer, the engine produces 405 horsepower. The engine bay features chrome valve covers, a polished aluminum intake manifold, a 600-cfm four-barrel carburetor, a chrome air cleaner housing, an MSD electronic ignition system, a polished dual-circuit brake master cylinder and power booster, a polished air conditioning compressor, and a chrome alternator. The original battery location has been removed and an Optima REDTOP battery is mounted in the trunk.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Bel Air was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Features include new front shocks, rear air shocks, and a two-inch lowered suspension. Braking is provided by power four-wheel disc brakes. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear. The original fuel tank has been removed from the chassis and an aluminum fuel tank is mounted in the trunk.
