Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This B029 Super Stock-inspired 1968 Plymouth Barracuda Sports Fastback restoration is powered by a Hemi 540cid V8 equipped with a dual four-barrel cross-ram intake manifold and backed by a TREMEC five-speed transmission. Features include a fiberglass hood with a scoop, bucket seats, and a Hurst pistol-grip shifter. Finished in black with white striping over a Pearl White vinyl interior, this Barracuda comes from the selling dealer with a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The reportedly rust-free exterior was refinished in black with white side stripes. Features include chrome bumpers, a fiberglass hood with a hood scoop and hood pins, a driver-side mirror, a flip-up fuel cap, and rear body trim. A walk-around video can be seen below.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of five-spoke polished aluminum wheels is wrapped in Mickey Thompson front radial tires and Hoosier rear slicks.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The cabin is furnished with Pearl White vinyl front bucket seats and a matching folding rear seat surrounded by Pearl White vinyl door panels and black trim. Features include manual windows and steering, a center console-mounted Hurst manual shifter with a pistol grip, and woodgrain accents. 

INTERIOR – GAUGES

The set of AutoMeter gauges includes a 140-mph speedometer, a 10,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, voltage, and more. The odometer reads 1,941 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a Hemi 540cid V8 connected to a dual four-barrel cross-ram intake manifold and a TREMEC five-speed manual transmission. Engine bay features include aluminum heads, aluminum valve covers, chrome air cleaner housings, and an aluminum radiator.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Barracuda was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Traction bars have been added. Braking is provided by manual front discs and rear drums. The dual exhaust system flows from tube headers and exits at the rear.
