Instrumentation includes a digital speedometer, a 6,000-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for the oil pressure, oil temperature, coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The digital odometer reads 8,949 miles, which falls in line with the most recent recorded figure of 6,413 miles logged in the CARFAX report in 2002.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The LT1 5.7-liter V8 was rated at 300 horsepower and 335 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a console-shifted four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential.

UNDERCARRIAGE

Handling is assisted by a traction control system. The suspension uses a five-link rear end along with an independent front end. Stopping power comes from power-assisted anti-lock disc brakes at all four corners.
