OVERVIEW

This 1987 Chevrolet K5 Blazer Silverado has over $18,000 invested in upgrades including paint touch-ups, 17-inch Mickey Thompson wheels, later-model seats, a Pro Comp 2.5-inch lift kit, and a newer exhaust system. Features include chrome bumpers, upgraded LED headlights, a windshield-mounted antenna, side step bars, tinted rear glass, a removable hardtop, and a trailer hitch. In July 2022, the windows were tinted with SunTek ceramic five-percent window tint at a reported cost of $500. The selling dealer states that $3,634 in paintwork was performed on several panels to repair sun-cracking in the tan section of the two-tone finish in June 2023. EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 17-inch aluminum Mickey Thompson Classic III wheels is wrapped in 285/70 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 radial tires. The selling dealer states that the wheels and tires were installed in May 2022.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The cabin is furnished with upgraded General Motors GMT800 captain’s chairs and a folding rear seat upholstered in gray cloth. The selling dealer states that the upgraded seats were installed in May 2022. Features include power windows and locks, power steering, a power tailgate window, a tilt steering column-mounted automatic transmission shifter, cruise control, a center console, a floor-mounted transfer case shifter, air conditioning, and a digital Kenwood AM/FM stereo.

INTERIOR - GAUGES

An 85-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, battery, oil pressure, and coolant temperature are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 161,395 miles, which the selling dealer reports to be accurate. The last reported mileage of 156,175 was logged on the CARFAX report in June 2023. A potential odometer rollover was reported in September 2009.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a fuel-injected 350cid V8 and backed by a rebuilt 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Engine bay features include polished aluminum valve covers, a chrome air cleaner housing, and tube exhaust headers. The selling dealer states that the transmission and torque converter were rebuilt in August 2012 at 111,782 miles for a total cost of $1,723. In March 2022, the spark plugs and wires, distributor, fuel injectors, valve covers and gaskets, fan shroud, throttle position sensor, throttle cable, idle air control valve, and brake master cylinder were replaced. A gearshift indicator adjustment, brake adjustment, brake bleed, an engine timing adjustment, and a throttle kick-down adjustment were completed simultaneously, bringing the total reported cost to $7,461. In June 2023, $1,208 in services including a refrigerant evacuation and recharge, a blower motor resistor replacement, and an oil pressure switch replacement were performed. An oil and filter change and a basic safety inspection were completed in August 2023.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Blazer is equipped with a solid front axle, a solid rear drive axle with a 3.73:1 gear ratio, and part-time four-wheel drive with automatic locking front hubs. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums. The selling dealer states that in May 2022, a four-wheel alignment was completed and a Pro Comp 2.5-inch lift kit, front and rear BDS NX2 shocks, a BDS NX2 steering stabilizer, Dorman leaf springs, and a dual exhaust system were installed along with the wheels, tires, and seats at a reported cost of $6,801.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The CARFAX report starts in September 1996 and shows ownership in Nevada,  Arizona, British Columbia, and Washington. An accident was reported in October 2013. The dealer will include receipts for upgrades and maintenance as part of the sale.
