Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This restored 1965 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova Sport Coupe has received many upgrades including AutoMeter gauges, an MSD ignition, an upgraded suspension, and Flowmaster mufflers. It is powered by a 522-horsepower Tesar Engineering-built 355cid V8 backed by a 700R4 four-speed transmission. Features include bucket seats, a dual-circuit master cylinder, an electric water pump, a 2,400-rpm stall converter, a transmission cooler, and Positraction. Finished in red over a black vinyl interior, this Nova comes from the selling dealer with engine documentation, an engine dyno sheet, and a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

During the restoration, the body was finished in red. Features include chrome bumpers, a driver-side rearview mirror, a rear antenna, and trunk trim. A full walk-around video can be seen below.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of Weld Racing Prostar wheels is reportedly wrapped in Mickey Thompson radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The cabin is furnished with aftermarket black vinyl front seats and a pleated black vinyl rear seat surrounded by black vinyl door panels and trim. Features include manual windows, manual rack-and-pinion steering, and a floor-mounted TCI Automotive ratcheting automatic transmission shifter.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 120-mph speedometer, an AutoMeter 7,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 29,604 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a Tesar Engineering-built 355cid V8 and backed by a 700R4 four-speed transmission with a 2,400-rpm stall converter. According to the dyno sheet, the engine produces approximately 522 horsepower. Engine bay features include body-color aluminum valve covers, a 750-cfm Holley carburetor, a red air cleaner housing, an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, ceramic-coated long tube headers, an MSD electronic ignition, an electric water pump, a transmission cooler with an electric fan, an aluminum radiator with an electric fan, and a dual-circuit master cylinder. The battery has been moved to the trunk.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Nova is equipped with an independent front suspension rebuilt with CPP components, tubular control arms, and a solid rear drive axle with 3.73:1 gears, Positraction, and traction bars. Subframe connectors have been installed. Braking is provided by manual front discs and rear drums. A dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers exits at the rear.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The dealer will include engine documentation and an engine dyno sheet as part of the sale. The two videos below show the exterior, interior, engine bay, and undercarriage.
