OVERVIEW
This three-owner 1954 Ford Crestline Fordor Sedan was repainted in 2020 and received new upholstery and carpeting within the last seven years under current ownership. It is powered by a 235cid inline-six backed by a Ford-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission. Features include manual steering and brakes, a refurbished AM radio, and a new six-volt wiring harness. Finished in Dark Blue over a light tan cloth interior, this garage-kept Crestline comes with spare parts and a clear title in the seller's name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
Originally finished in black, the body was repainted Dark Blue in 2020. The seller states that very little rust was present when the car went into the body shop for paint and all rust was removed and repaired. Features include chrome bumpers, a chrome grille, a fender-mounted antenna, Crestline side trim, and reverse lights.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of 15-inch black steel wheels with full hubcaps is wrapped in P215/75 Cooper Trendsetter SE radial tires that were installed in 2021 and have logged fewer than 10 miles since then.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The reupholstered cabin is furnished with a tan cloth front bench seat and a matching rear seat surrounded by tan cloth door panels and blue metal trim. Features include manual windows and steering, a steering column-mounted automatic transmission shifter, and newer blue carpeting. The states that the AM radio has been rebuilt but is not hooked up; the heater is also not connected.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A 110-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature are located ahead of the driver. With 10 miles added during the seller's seven-year ownership, the odometer reads 13,869 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown. The seller cannot verify that the odometer is accurate.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a 235cid I6 and backed by a Ford-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission. A new six-volt wiring harness has been installed. The seller states that a small leak is present at the front of the engine and the top of the engine has been rebuilt. The last service was completed in 2021.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Ford was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by manual four-wheel drums. A single exhaust system exits at the rear. The seller states that the bushing in the front A-arm needs to be replaced.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
A box of spare parts will come with the purchase of the car.
Also, the Fordomatic was a 2 speed, not a 3 speed transmission.
The displacement of the Ford overhead 6 cyl in 1954 was 223 cubic inches. It's the Chevrolet that had a 235.
