454-POWERED 1981 CHEVROLET C10

OVERVIEW

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The cabin is furnished with a bench seat upholstered in black cloth surrounded by black door panels and trim. Features include manual windows and steering, a tilt steering column, and a B&M automatic transmission shifter. 

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A tachometer is mounted to the steering column. Auxiliary water temperature, voltage, and oil pressure gauges are located under the dashboard. The odometer reads 81,614 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown. The last reported mileage of 114,000 was logged on the CARFAX report in July 2011. A potential odometer rollover was logged in December 1990; a mileage inconsistency was recorded in February 2006.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 454cid V8 and backed by a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission. Engine bay features include chrome valve covers, an aluminum intake manifold, a four-barrel carburetor, and a chrome air cleaner housing. This truck was originally equipped with air conditioning, but the lines and compressor have been removed. 

UNDERCARRIAGE

This custom truck has an independent front suspension and a narrowed rear drive axle. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear.
