OVERVIEW
This 1955 Ford Thunderbird convertible comes with two tops and receives power from a 292ci Y-block V8 mated to a three-speed overdrive manual transmission. Under previous ownership, the ignition system and chassis received updates and service. Finished in Raven Black and equipped with a white soft top over a black vinyl interior, this first-year Thunderbird is now offered with a removable Raven Black hardtop and a clear Arizona title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The reportedly rust-free body was repainted Raven Black (color code A) under prior ownership and is accompanied by a matching removable hardtop and a white soft top. Exterior features include chrome trim, an egg crate-style grille, a hood scoop, an antenna, rear fender skirts, and dual exhaust outlets.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
The 15-inch steel wheels have Thunderbird hubcaps and are wrapped in 205/75 whitewall tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The two-seat interior is fitted with a black vinyl power bench seat and black and white vinyl door panels. Features include power windows, lap belts, aluminum dash trim, a radio, and floor mats.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a 150-mph speedometer, a 5,000-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, readouts for the fuel level and coolant temperature, and warning lights for the oil pressure and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer has rolled over and reads 697 miles, which is equivalent to 100,697 miles.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 292ci Y-block V8 was maintained by the previous owner for nine years, during which time the carburetor, fuel pump, spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, electronic ignition, fuel filter, and timing chain were replaced. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted three-speed overdrive manual transmission.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The chassis was lubed in early 2023 under previous ownership.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
This Thunderbird was previously sold on AutoHunter in March 2023. The current sale includes a removable Raven Black hardtop.

Air cleaner is a low rise type which is 1957 Thunderbird spec. Intake manifold & carburetor may have been updated as well. And how about the cylinder heads? Seller care to chime in? Didn't think so!

Has the engine ever been rebuilt and the center cam bearing staked, or is there an overhead oiler tap to the valvetrain? For a good price it would be almost impossible to buy without more pictures of the underside of the car and the running gear. Older 292s will almost always spin the center cam bearing before 100,000 miles if you do not replace and stake it, inspect or replace the top end because the rockers lose all oiling and you can't keep the valves adjusted or the cups wear and the pusrods fail.
All these questions and still no answers
Undercarriage, door jams, trunk pictures?

@louieaaa – What did the car sell for back in March 2023? ...
$22,600 per the history of the same seller. And what happened with that sale? Buyer didn't follow through?

The odometer reading is represented above as 100,697 miles. However, the picture of the prior title from 2014 lists the mileage as 0003432 B. The B means "Mileage in excess of the odometer mechanical limits" per the title. Please comment on the discrepancy. Or maybe the mileage is 200,697?
