OVERVIEW
This numbers-matching 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray convertible went through an inside-and-out restoration and comes with aluminum turbine-style wheels, an AM/FM radio, a walnut steering wheel, and power disc brakes. It was garage-kept by one owner since 1979 and is powered by a 435-horsepower L71 Turbo-Jet 427cid big-block V8 mated to a reportedly numbers-matching four-speed manual transmission. Finished in Ermine White and equipped with a white retractable top over a black vinyl interior, this C2 Corvette is now offered with a removable body-color hardtop, the removed original gas tank with a portion of the original tank sticker, documentation, restoration photos, manuals, receipts, spare parts, and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The Ermine White (code 972) exterior is accented with black striping on the "stinger" hood and nose. Features pop-up headlamps, chrome bumpers, vented front fenders, a driver-side mirror, an antenna, and an “off-road” dual exhaust system.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Turbine-style 15-inch aluminum wheels with bowtie-branded center caps are wrapped in 185-15 Michelin redline tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The two-seat cockpit is fitted with black vinyl (code STD) buckets, matched to the door panels, dash, center console, and carpeting. Features include power windows, a walnut steering wheel, an AM/FM radio, and Corvette-branded floor mats.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation consists of a 160-mph speedometer, a 7,000-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 26,605 miles, which the selling dealer reports to be accurate.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The L71 427cid big-block V8 is said to retain stampings that corroborate its numbers-matching originality. It was rated originally at 435 horsepower. The dealer notes that the car also has a correct alternator, booster, manifold, carburetors, hoses, and clamps. Service was completed within the past year. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a reportedly numbers-matching four-speed manual transmission. Detailed images of this vehicle's stampings and its engine in various phases of disassembly are in the gallery to the right.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Braking is handled by power-assisted disc brakes.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The dealer has provided a video showing the exterior, engine bay, and interior as well as a start-up and a driving demonstration below. The car will come with the removable hardtop, the removed original gas tank with a portion of the tank sticker, a DVD of the original gas tank being removed, restoration photos, ownership history, manuals, receipts, books, and spare parts.
