OVERVIEW
This 1960 Willys Jeep Pick-Up Truck is powered by a rebuilt Super Hurricane 226cid I6 backed by a T90 three-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Features include a front brush guard, a side-mounted spare tire, an Alpine AM/FM stereo, and several newer engine parts. Finished in Plantation White over a black vinyl interior, this Willys comes from the selling dealer with an owner’s manual, the removed steering wheel emblem, a new uninstalled wiring harness, and a clear title that classifies this Willys as a 1962 model.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
In 2005, the body was refinished in the reportedly original factory color of Plantation White. Features include a black front bumper with a brush guard, a chrome grille, chrome hood trim, a cowl-mounted antenna, a step-side bed, and a side-mounted spare tire. The selling dealer states that deterioration can be found in the window seals and dents are present in the bed floor. Those and other imperfections are shown in the gallery to the right.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of 16-inch white steel wheels with manual locking front hubs is wrapped in 215/85 radial tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cab is furnished with a black vinyl bench seat surrounded by gray metal door panels and painted trim. Features include manual windows and steering, floor-mounted manual transmission and transfer case shifters, and a glovebox-mounted Alpine AM/FM/cassette radio.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A 90-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 70,300 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a rebuilt Super Hurricane 226cid I6 and backed by a T90 three-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The selling dealer states that the engine was rebuilt in 2019, a process that included the replacement of the water pump, oil pump, engine gaskets, ignition coil, and spark plugs. The truck has been converted to a 12-volt wiring system. The selling dealer states that the fluids were changed in 2023.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Jeep was factory-equipped with a solid front axle, a solid rear axle, and part-time four-wheel drive. The selling dealer states that in 2019 the wheel bearings and suspension shackles were replaced. In 2022, maintenance included the lubrication of the suspension, a battery replacement, a transmission and transfer case service, and the replacement of the brake fluid. Service in 2022 also included the replacement of the front shackle bushings, wheel bearings, brake drums, brake shoes and hardware, and wheel cylinders. A single exhaust system exits ahead of the rear passenger-side tire. The selling dealer states that rust is visible on underside components, which can be seen in the gallery.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The selling dealer will include an owner’s manual, a new uninstalled wiring harness, and the removed original steering wheel emblem as part of the sale.
