1971 FORD F-250 SPORT CUSTOM HIGHBOY 4X4 4-SPEED

OVERVIEW

This four-wheel-drive 1971 Ford F-250 Sport Custom pickup is powered by a 360cid V8 backed by a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Features include front fog lights, a sliding rear window, dual fuel tanks, and a Sansui AM/FM/cassette radio. Finished in Bahama Blue over a reupholstered two-tone blue vinyl and cloth interior, this F-250 "Highboy" comes from the selling dealer with a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The selling dealer believes the body might have been refinished in the original color of Bahama Blue (code 6); they wet-sanded and clear-coated it to preserve the patina. Features include a chrome front bumper, front fog lights, a bright grille, dual rearview mirrors, a new windshield and gasket, rocker and wheel well moldings, a cab-mounted fuel tank, a rear sliding window, a long bed with locking dual fuel tank doors, and a rear step bumper. The selling dealer states that light surface rust is present on the bumper and the side of the bed, and a .22-caliber bullet hole can be found to the right of the driver-side fuel door. INTERIOR – FEATURES

The cabin is furnished with a reupholstered blue vinyl and cloth bench seat surrounded by the original blue door panels and body-color trim. The selling dealer states that the headliner, dashboard pad, carpeting, and speakers are new. Features include manual windows and steering, floor-mounted manual transmission and transfer case shifters, and a Sansui AM/FM/cassette radio.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 100-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 67,813 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 360cid V8 and backed by a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Engine bay features include chrome valve covers, a blue air cleaner housing, and an aluminum radiator.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This F-250 was factory-equipped with a solid front axle, a solid rear drive axle, and part-time four-wheel drive. Braking is provided by manual four-wheel drums. A dual exhaust system exits behind the rear tires.
