1986 GMC K1500 4X4

OVERVIEW

This frame-off-restored 1986 GMC K1500 received many upgrades including custom paint, a custom interior, new steering components, and a three-inch suspension lift. It is powered by a remanufactured General Motors 350cid V8 backed by a four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Features include a custom bench seat with integrated cup holders, power locks and power windows, power steering, and power front disc brakes. Finished in Bright Red with bronze accents over a red vinyl and cloth interior, this GMC comes with an accident-free CARFAX report and a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

During the frame-off restoration completed in 2023, the reportedly rust-free body was finished in Bright Red PPG Deltron paint with bronze accents. Features include color-matched bumpers, a bronze grille, a cowl-induction hood, dual rearview mirrors, a short Fleetside pickup box, and a black bedliner.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 20-inch bronze and black Fuel wheels is wrapped in 275/65 Goodyear Wrangler radial tires that were installed in August 2023.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The cabin is furnished with a red vinyl and cloth bench seat with bronze accents and integrated cup holders as well as red vinyl door panels with bronze accents and red trim. Features include power locks and windows, a tilt steering column-mounted automatic transmission shifter, and a black carpeted dashboard cover. The seller states that the parking brake needs a new cable, the horn button needs to be replaced, and the factory air conditioning is not hooked up.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

An 85-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage are located ahead of the driver. With 500 miles added during the seller's two-year ownership, the odometer reads 39,950 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown. The last reported mileage of 10,182 on the CARFAX report was logged in May 1992; an Exceeds Mechanical Limits title was issued the same month.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a remanufactured General Motors 350cid V8 and backed by a four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Engine bay features include a bronze block and aluminum valve covers, an aluminum intake manifold, a four-barrel carburetor, a bronze air cleaner housing, and chrome tube headers.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This GMC is equipped with a solid front axle, a solid rear axle with 3.73:1 gearing, and part-time four-wheel drive. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums. A custom dual exhaust system with stainless outlets exits behind the rear tires. A three-inch suspension lift has been installed. The seller states that new suspension and steering components were installed in August 2023.
