OVERVIEW
This restored 1965 Ford Mustang Hardtop is powered by an upgraded 289cid V8 backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include power steering and brakes, a Custom Autosound AM/FM radio with a trunk-mounted CD changer, and an overhauled carburetor. Finished in Prairie Bronze over a Palomino vinyl interior, this garage-kept Mustang comes from the selling dealer with an owner’s manual, service records, and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
During the restoration in 2008, the reportedly rust-free body was finished in the original color of Prairie Bronze (code P). Features include chrome bumpers, a fender-mounted antenna, dual rearview mirrors, and side accent trim.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of 14-inch black steel wheels with simulated wire-wheel hub caps is wrapped in 195/75 Uniroyal Tiger Paw whitewall radial tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cabin is furnished with Palomino vinyl bucket seats surrounded by Palomino door panels and trim (code 29). Features include manual windows, power steering, a center console with a storage compartment and cup holders, a floor-mounted automatic transmission shifter, and a Custom Autosound AM/FM radio with a trunk-mounted CD changer.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A 120-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 98,000 miles, which the selling dealer reports to be accurate.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The original T-code 200cid I6 has been replaced with a 289cid V8 equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. Engine bay features include gold valve covers and a gold air cleaner assembly. The selling dealer states that a complete service that included an oil change, a carburetor overhaul, and the replacement of the distributor cap and rotor, spark plugs, and spark plug wires was completed in August 2023.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Mustang was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by power four-wheel drums. A single exhaust system exits at the rear.
