1988 FORD MUSTANG GT 5.0 CONVERTIBLE

OVERVIEW

This 1988 Ford Mustang GT convertible receives power from a High-Output 5.0-liter V8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes fog lamps, a luggage rack, BFGoodrich tires, power windows and locks, air conditioning, a Bluetooth stereo, and the Handling Suspension Package. EXTERIOR – FEATURES

INTERIOR – GAUGES

The 1989-1993 Mustang GT instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer, a 7,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the coolant temperature, fuel level, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 100,000 miles, which the seller states is the true mileage. According to the CARFAX report, Not Actual Mileage and Exceeds Mechanical Limits titles were first issued in 1991.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The fuel-injected High-Output 5.0-liter V8 was rated at 225 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque when new. A tune-up was performed in October 2023. Power is directed to the rear wheels via a console-shifted four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Mustang came from the factory with the Handling Suspension Package, which consisted of progressive-rate springs and front and rear stabilizer bars. Stopping is performed by power front disc brakes and rear drums.
