OVERVIEW
This restored 1968 Ford Mustang Hardtop was purchased on AutoHunter by the current owner in May 2022. It is powered by the reportedly original 289cid V8 backed by a four-speed manual transmission. Features include front fog lights, an AM/FM/cassette radio, an MSD electronic ignition system, a chrome shock tower support bar, a new carburetor, and subframe connectors. Finished in Aqua Blue over a two-tone blue vinyl interior, this Mustang comes with New York registration in the seller's name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The reportedly rust-free body was repainted Aqua Blue under previous ownership in 2021. Features include chrome bumpers, hood-mounted turn signals, dual rearview mirrors, a fender-mounted antenna, and rocker panel trim.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of 14-inch front and 15-inch rear Cragar wheels is wrapped in 215/70R14 Goodyear Assurance front and 185/65R15 Kumho rear radial tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cabin is furnished with two-tone blue vinyl bucket seats and a matching rear seat surrounded by blue vinyl door panels and blue metal trim. Features include manual windows and steering, an AM/FM/cassette radio, a floor-mounted manual transmission shifter, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
An inoperative 120-mph speedometer, an AutoMeter 10,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, water temperature, and oil pressure are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 25,762 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by the reportedly original 289cid V8 and backed by a four-speed manual transmission. Engine bay features include aluminum heads, chrome valve covers, an MSD electronic ignition system, an aluminum intake manifold, a new carburetor, and a K&N air filter. A chrome shock tower support brace and an aluminum radiator have been installed.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Mustang was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Stopping is performed by manual brakes. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear. Subframe connectors and traction bars have been installed.
