RESERVE REMOVED: 1966 Chevrolet Malibu 4-Door Sedan

OVERVIEW

This 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu four-door sedan was put through a frame-off restoration under previous ownership in 2011 and has received upgrades to the interior, fuel and cooling systems, suspension, brakes, and exhaust under current ownership since 2021. It is powered by a 350cid V8 backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include power steering, a new AM/FM/Bluetooth stereo, a new air conditioning compressor, power disc brakes, and UMI Performance coilovers. Finished in Pearl White over a red vinyl interior, this Malibu comes with registration in the seller's name and a bill of sale.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

During the frame-off restoration in 2011, the body was finished in Pearl White. Features include chrome bumpers, LED headlights, dual rearview mirrors, rocker trim, and a rear-mounted antenna. The seller states that rust is present on the bottom of the passenger-side door and paint bubbling is present in some places. 

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 15-inch American Racing aluminum wheels is wrapped in 205/65 front and 295/50 rear Mastercraft radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The cabin is furnished with a red vinyl front bench seat and a matching rear seat surrounded by red vinyl door panels and trim. The seller states that a new headliner, door panels, and carpeting have been installed. Features include manual windows, power steering, a floor-mounted B&M automatic transmission shifter, a digital Kenwood AM/FM/Bluetooth stereo with kick-panel front speakers, and air conditioning.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A set of Dakota Digital LCD gauges that includes a speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, voltage, coolant temperature, and oil pressure are located ahead of the driver. With 2,000 miles added during the seller's two-year ownership, the odometer reads 8,141 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 350cid V8 and backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. Engine bay features include chrome valve covers, a polished aluminum intake manifold, a black air cleaner housing, long tube headers, and a polished air conditioning compressor and alternator. A new Holley 600-cfm carburetor, Be Cool radiator, DieHard battery, fuel lines, and dual electric fans were installed in 2021. The seller states that the air conditioning compressor was recently replaced, but the system is leaking.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Chevelle was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by power discs. A three-inch dual exhaust system with Flowmaster hardware exits at the rear. The seller states that UMI Performance stage 2 adjustable coilovers have been installed.
