OVERVIEW
This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Sport Coupe comes from an estate and was with the previous owner for 15 years. It is powered by a 327cid V8 backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include factory power steering, a digital AM/FM radio, air conditioning, and manual front disc brakes. Finished in a Primrose and White two-tone over a brown vinyl and velour interior, this Bel Air comes from the selling dealer with a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The reportedly rust-free body is finished in a two-tone of Primrose and White. Features include chrome bumpers, a fender-mounted antenna, custom accent pinstriping, and custom smooth taillight lenses. A walk-around video can be seen below.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of 15-inch American Racing Torq Thrust wheels is wrapped in 215/65 Ironman GR906 radial tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cabin is furnished with a front bench seat upholstered in brown vinyl and velour and a matching rear seat, surrounded by brown door panels and trim. Features include manual windows, factory power steering, air conditioning, a floor-mounted B&M automatic transmission shifter, and an AM/FM digital radio. The selling dealer states that a new power steering pump has been installed.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A 110-mph speedometer, an 8,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure are located ahead of the driver. With 10,000 miles added during the previous owner's 15-year ownership, the odometer reads 22,265 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a 327cid V8 and backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. Engine bay features include Edelbrock finned aluminum valve covers, a Weiand aluminum intake, a four-barrel carburetor, a chrome Moroso air cleaner housing, electric windshield wipers, and an upgraded dual-circuit master cylinder. The selling dealer states that the oil and fluids were changed in November 2023.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Bel Air was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by manual front discs and rear drums. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
This Bel Air previously appeared on AutoHunter in December 2023 and is now being relisted at a lower reserve price than before. The VIN tag is original and the C in position 1 designates a Bel Air. The title is missing the C but matches the tag on the car. Paperwork will include a notarized affidavit of correction to add the C to the next title.

TH 400 and the shifter is an early B&M automatic shifter but I don't know exactly which one. There is no secondary lever on he handle and you lift it to go over the gates. I hope that helps

We spoke to a previous owner and he said it was a 327 motor but beyond that, did not know. I can try to get it on a lift tomorrow and maybe properly identify the transmission but pretty sure it is a 3 speed. It is a very nice car, runs and drives very well, starts right up. Thanks ...
Just curious if you know much about the motor. Mainly if it’s stock or modified? Reason I was asking about the firewall and transmission is. I’ve always wanted another 55, but would like to change to a four speed. Thank you for your time. This car is very nice as is Sometimes us old timers just like to relive old memories if there in our budgets.

Was it new with manual transmission. Can you tell from the firewall? 55hardtop was my first car at 15 and drivers permit. Had an all Vette motor 60 over. Totally shocked when my parents let me get it. After the owner said it had never been beat in a local drag race. ...
