Vehicle Story

This 1973 Triumph TR6 is finished in Sienna Brown over tan leather with aftermarket air conditioning and is powered by a 2.5-liter inline-6 mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. Recent service includes replacing the exhaust system, battery, alternator, U-joints, heater and radiator hoses, horns, and more. Additional work included rewiring and recharging the aftermarket air conditioning system and installing upgrades such as a high-torque starter, a new solid wood steering wheel, and a Pioneer sound system. This TR6 is offered with a clear Florida title in the seller's name.

The body is finished in Sienna Brown with red pinstriping and a dark brown top. A driver-side bullet mirror was added by the seller. Additional photos show the fitment of the panels and the condition of the paint.

15" slotted wheels with trim rings and a factory TR6 hub cap are wrapped in 205/70 rubber.

Cognac vinyl seating is complemented by matching boot and door panels and carpet of a darker shade of brown. A new teak veneer dash plate, control knobs, window stripping, and rubber mats have been added under current ownership, while the windows and doors have been lubricated.

Interior upgrades and replacements since the seller's purchase include new sun visors, rearview mirror, polished solid wood steering wheel, billet horn button and hub, speedometer cable, and a 12-volt outlet with two receptacles. Other significant work consisted of installing a Pioneer S6000 AM/FM Bluetooth stereo with TS-X200 rear speakers, the rewiring of the air conditioning fan, pressure switch, and circuit breaker a recharge of the system. The odometer shows under 37k miles, but true mileage is unknown.

Power is provided by a 2.5-liter inline-6 paired with a synchromesh 4-speed manual transmission. A pre-purchase inspection performed in January 2018 revealed compression of 100, 95, 95, 100, 93, and 112 psi on cylinders one through six, respectively. Subsequent work performed in 2019 and 2020 included the installation of a Crane Cams electronic ignition, high-torque starter, battery, remanufactured alternator, and the pressure hose between the clutch master and slave cylinders. The oil and filter were also changed.

Brakes, suspension and steering components, and bearings were deemed in good condition when the car was inspected in 2018. After the seller's purchase, the entire exhaust system was replaced, as were the rear inner and outer U-joints, and new heater and radiator hoses were added. Gallery photos show the condition of the undercarriage.

@GriffSC – Regardless of the work performed, it's a nice example. Love the color combo! ...

Thank you, Griff, for the kind words. When looking to buy a TR that had A/C I must have looked at more than 500 cars. Not only does this car have A/C but it has a beautiful deep wet look thanks to the gloss, and the interior appeared to be fairly new when I bought it. Best regards, Roger

@genemcden – Hello Roger, very nice TR. My favorite year and color. Since you have owned the car how many miles have you driven the car and why are you selling it. Thanks, Gene ...

Thanks for your comment, Gene. When I first got the car I drove it around town nearly everyday with my mini-Husky enjoying the open top ride in the passenger seat. But since then I have had to have one shoulder totally replaced, and the other one needs it as well. Bottom line is that since the car does not have power steering it is too painful to make sharp turns in and out of my garage. Otherwise I would not put it up for sale. Best regards, Roger
