Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 has been with the seller since 1989 and is powered by a 351ci Windsor V8 backed by a three-speed automatic transmission, both of which are reportedly numbers-matching. Features include a hood scoop, color-keyed sport mirror caps, rear window louvers, power steering, bucket seats, a center console, an aftermarket hood-mounted tachometer, and power brakes. Finished in Toreador Red over a Red Corinthian vinyl and Red Clarion Knit vinyl interior, this first-year Mustang Mach 1 comes with a clear title in the seller's name.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

Originally finished in Wimbledon White with a blacked-out hood (color codes M and 5), the exterior was repainted Toreador Red in 1989. Features include a black front spoiler, chrome bumpers, hood pins, hood blackout, a hood scoop, an aftermarket hood-mounted tachometer, color-keyed sport mirror caps, rocker trim, and rear window louvers.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

The 15-inch Weld Racing aluminum wheels are wrapped in newer 225/60 front and 245/60 rear Futura GLS Super Sport radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The reportedly original front bucket and rear seats are upholstered in Red Corinthian vinyl and Red Clarion Knit vinyl (trim code 3D). Features include Deluxe door panels with manual window cranks, a center console with a storage compartment and an automatic shifter, power steering and brakes, simulated woodgrain trim, and a sport steering wheel.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

With 915 miles added during current ownership, the odometer reads 88,915 miles, which the seller reports to be accurate.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 351ci Windsor V8 and backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. According to the seller, both are numbers-matching. An aluminum intake manifold and a chrome air filter have been installed. The last service was completed in 1989 and included the replacement of the carburetor, voltage regulator, starter, and brake booster.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Mustang was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

This Mustang previously appeared on AutoHunter in May 2023. It is now being relisted at a lower reserve price than before.

@copper – I have a couple questions: 1) Is there or was there any rot through on the car? Were any metal body panels floors replaced at anytime. Especially the floors and rear quarter panels. 2) I noticed the trim for the driver's door glass appears to be stuck in the door window area? Is there a reason it was not glued back to the glass? Was the glass replaced in the door and if so could it be that the wrong glass was used on the door so the molding does not line up right or line up correctly with the door frame? 3) Do all the gauges and lights work inside and outside 4) does the engine burn any oil and any oil or transmission fluid leaks, muffler leaks etc. 5) Does the Cowel leak into the car if the car is left in the rain or during car washes 5) Can you hold onto the car for at least a couple weeks for me to arrange for a shipper to ship it to me on the west coast Thank you very interested in your car. ...

No rot, no metal panels replaced, driver door glass was recently replaced and I didn't notice any details. All gauges work. No leaks . Car has been garaged since I purchased. No leaks in rain or car wash. I prefer that you see the car before purchase.
