OVERVIEW
This European-market 1991 Land Rover Defender 90 Station Wagon was imported to the United States about five years ago and has been treated to a cosmetic and mechanical refurbishment under the seller’s ownership over 25k went into rebuilding this vehicle, which started in 2020. Power comes from a rebuilt 300Tdi 2.5-liter turbodiesel I4 mated to an R380 five-speed manual transmission and an LT230 dual-range transfer case. Upgrades include a Tyrex winch, a snorkel, a T-Max farm jack, a sunroof, 18-inch Pro Comp wheels, and a Bluetooth audio system. Finished in Racing Orange over a black alligator-style vinyl and orange plaid fabric interior, this Defender 90 is now offered with a clean CARFAX report and a clear title in the seller’s name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The Racing Orange body has contrasting black accents which include a Raptor 4x4 front bumper, widened fender flares, a tubular exoskeleton, and textured trim plates. Features include front and rear auxiliary lighting, a Tyrex winch, a snorkel, a tinted windshield, a pop-up sunroof, dual side mirrors, a rear step ladder, and a 60-inch T-Max farm jack. The door latches, hinges, and bolts were replaced during the restoration process. The seller notes a few paint chips on the driver's side.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Black Pro Comp 16-inch aluminum wheels are wrapped in 255/85R16 Ziarelli Extreme Forest tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior was refurbished in 2021 with black alligator-style vinyl and orange plaid cloth for the high-back bucket seats up front and dual inward-facing bench seats in the rear. Black trim continues to the newer door panels, dash, Tyrex steering wheel with contrast stitching, carpeting, and all-weather floor mats. The Bluetooth audio system uses an Alpine amplifier and Focal speakers that were installed in 2021.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a 150-km/h speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil temperature, and other vehicle vitals. The six-digit mechanical odometer reads 170,000 kilometers (105,633 miles), but the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The overhauled 300Tdi 2.5-liter turbodiesel I4 received oil and fluid changes in November 2023. Mechanical service since 2020 under the seller’s ownership has included the replacement of the clutch kit, fan, heater core, water pump gasket, steering belt, coolant, belts, fans, starter motor, battery, wiring, ignition, and horn. Output is channeled to all four wheels via a floor-shifted five-speed manual transmission and an LT230 dual-range transfer case with a 1.4:1 ratio.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The emergency brake has been replaced and the underbody has been repainted. In addition, new front differential covers have been installed along with new rear right-side hub bearings.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The CARFAX report begins in 2019 when the vehicle was first registered in the United States and shows accident-free ownership in South Carolina and Missouri.
