RESERVE REMOVED: 1962 Oldsmobile Starfire Coupe

OVERVIEW

This 1962 Oldsmobile Starfire coupe received a braking system overhaul under current ownership and new paint in late 2023. It is powered by a recently serviced 394cid V8 backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include power steering, bucket seats, a replacement dashboard, a center console with a factory tachometer, factory air conditioning, and power brakes. Finished in Garnet Mist over a maroon vinyl interior, this Starfire comes with a clear title in the seller's name.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

In late 2023, the body was finished in Garnet Mist (code L). Features include chrome bumpers, a fender-mounted antenna, Starfire side trim with silver inserts, rocker moldings, and rear body trim. EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 15-inch black steel wheels with simulated wire hub caps is wrapped in 205/75 front and 215/75 rear whitewall radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The cabin is furnished with maroon vinyl bucket seats and a matching rear seat surrounded by maroon vinyl door panels and trim. Features include manual windows, a center console-mounted automatic transmission shifter, and factory air conditioning. The seller states that the dashboard was replaced under previous ownership and that the AM radio works but currently only plays static.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 120-mph speedometer, warning lights, and a fuel gauge are located ahead of the driver. A 6,000-rpm factory tachometer is mounted at the front of the center console. The odometer reads 9,444 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 394cid V8 and backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. The seller states an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor has been installed. Within the last month, an oil change and a tune-up were completed and the fluids and belts were checked. A video of the engine running can be seen below.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Starfire was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by power four-wheel drums. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear. The seller states that a complete brake overhaul that included the replacement of the brake master cylinder, brake booster, brake shoes, wheel cylinders, and rubber brake hoses has been completed.
