OVERVIEW
The restoration of this 1970 Dodge Challenger included new paint and exterior components, a refurbished interior, engine and transmission upgrades, and a rebuilt front suspension. It is powered by a 440cid V8 backed by an A833 four-speed manual transmission equipped with a new clutch. Features include new bumpers and mirrors, power steering, front disc brakes, and a new fuel tank. Finished in Hemi Orange over a black leather interior, this Challenger comes with a clear title in the seller's name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
In June 2023, the reportedly rust-free body was refinished in Hemi Orange. Features include new chrome bumpers, R/T badging, dual hood scoops, a V21 black hood stripe, black R/T side stripes, a fender-mounted antenna, a new front windshield, new chrome mirror housings, new door handles, a flip-up fuel filler, and a new rear window.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of staggered-width 15-inch American Racing Torq Thrust aluminum wheels is wrapped in new 245/60R15 front and 255/60R15 rear Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
As part of the refurbishment process, the cabin was furnished with new black leather leather upholstery for the front bucket seats and matching rear seat, a new black dashboard, and new black carpeting. Features include manual windows, power steering, a floor-mounted Hurst pistol-grip shifter, and woodgrain accents.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A 150-mph speedometer, a 7,000-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for the fuel level and other systems are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 155,432 miles, which the seller reports to be accurate.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Originally equipped with a 340cid V8 backed by a three-speed automatic transmission, this Challenger is now powered by a 440cid V8, which is backed by an A833 four-speed manual transmission equipped with a new clutch. Engine bay features include finned aluminum Mickey Thompson valve covers, an aluminum intake manifold, an Edelbrock 750-cfm four-barrel carburetor, a black air cleaner housing, a Mallory electronic ignition system, and an aluminum radiator.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Challenger is equipped with a rebuilt independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle with 3.23:1 gears and a Sure-Grip differential. Braking is provided by manual front discs and rear drums. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear. The seller states that the heavy-duty torsion bars, tubular front sway bar, and fuel tank are new.
