Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This customized 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Sport Coupe is powered by a 350cid V8 backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include color-keyed bumpers, a cowl-induction hood, a rear spoiler, and power front disc brakes. Finished in red and black with silver accent stripes over a black vinyl interior, this Camaro comes with a clear title in the seller's name.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

During the customization process in 2018, the reportedly rust-free body was finished in red and black with silver accent stripes. Features include a front spoiler, color-keyed bumpers, an RS grille, a cowl-induction hood, dual rearview mirrors, shaved door handles, a rear spoiler, and RS taillights. The seller states that there is a small chip in the paint on the passenger-side door.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 15-inch chrome Cragar S/S wheels is wrapped in 215/65R15 front and 235/70R15 rear Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires that were installed in 2018.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The cabin is furnished with black vinyl front bucket seats and a matching rear seat surrounded by black and red vinyl door panels and trim. Features include manual windows, manual steering, an aluminum steering wheel with a red grip and an SS horn button, and a center console-mounted B&M automatic transmission shifter.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

An AutoMeter 120-mph speedometer and an AutoMeter 10,000-rpm tachometer are mounted ahead of the driver. Auxiliary gauges are mounted in the center of the dashboard. The odometer reads 2,742 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 350cid V8 and backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. Engine bay features include aluminum heads, fabricated aluminum valve covers, an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, a Proform four-barrel carburetor, a red and black oval air cleaner housing, dual electric fans, a chrome alternator, a chrome power brake booster and master cylinder, tube exhaust headers, braided fuel hoses, and a shaved body-color firewall and fenders. The seller states that an oil change was performed and the following new parts were installed in May 2022:

  • Coolant
  • Lifters
  • Camshaft
  • Pushrods
  • Thermostat
  • Radiator hose

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Camaro was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear. Subframe connectors have been installed.

This car appraised 2 years ago for $51,500 through a professional classic car appraiser. Nothing to decrease the value since then but switched out the cam and replaced some linkage.
