This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible underwent a professional nut-and-bolt restoration at the selling dealer's shop approximately one year ago and is now fitted with a rebuilt LS 5.3-liter V8, 4L60E automatic transmission, Wilwood disc brakes, a new subframe, and a custom exhaust system. It is finished in Checkered Red with Silver ghost stripes and hydrographic trim over a custom black interior with two-tone houndstooth upholstery, ZL1 power bucket seats, a power top, Vintage air conditioning, Dakota Digital gauges, a Pioneer touch-screen infotainment system, Cerwin Vega speakers and 2,000-watt amp, and more. This Camaro is offered from the selling dealer Roanoke, Alabama location with partial build records and a clear Oklahoma title.
The body is finished in a PPG Checkered Red with "Glammer" clear coat and silver ghost stripes, all applied with a multi-step paint enhancement system. Notable features are a custom hydrographic carbon fiber trim and an all new black premium canvas power top with glass rear window.
18" Ridler 650 Matte Black wheels with polished lips are wrapped in 225/40 Falken ZIEX ZE950 front and 245/45 rear tires.
The customized interior consists of ZL1 power buckets and rear bench with black and white houndstooth inserts, chrome 3-spoke steering wheel, and body-matching dash and center console with cup holders.
Modern upgrades include Vintage air, Dakota Digital gauges, and a Pioneer touch-screen sound system with navigation, XM radio, and backup camera wired to Cerwin Vega speakers and a 2,000-watt amp housed in the trunk.
Power is provided by a LS 5.3-liter V8 that was rebuilt to performance expectations by a former NASCAR mechanic and the requisite engine break-in protocol has been followed. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission.
The car sits atop a Checkered Racing subframe and suspended by coil-over shocks. Braking is handled by slotted 4-wheel Wilwood discs with a Classic Performance Products hydraulic booster, and a custom exhaust is fitted.
