OVERVIEW
This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Sport Coupe has been with the seller for four years. It is powered by a 496cid big-block V8 built by Rex Hutchison Racing Engines and backed by a TREMEC TKX five-speed manual transmission. Features include power steering, a Vintage Air climate control system, and Wilwood disc brakes. Finished in black with white accent stripes over a black vinyl interior, this Chevelle comes with a clear title in the seller’s name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The body has been refinished in black with white side accent stripes. Features include chrome bumpers, a cowl-induction hood, and dual rearview mirrors. The seller states that there are chips in the paint and there is a dent in the passenger-side rear quarter panel that can be seen in the gallery to the right.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of 18-inch U.S. Mags aluminum wheels is wrapped in 235/40ZR18 front and 275/40ZR18 rear Hankook radial tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cabin is furnished with black vinyl SCAT Procar front bucket seats and a matching rear seat surrounded by black vinyl door panels and trim. Features include manual windows, power steering, a three-spoke steering wheel with a wood rim, Vintage Air climate controls, and a floor-mounted manual transmission shifter. The seller states that the driver-side window crank handle is loose and rust is present in the trunk pan.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A set of AutoMeter gauges that includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 10,000-rpm tachometer, and readouts for the fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 300 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown. The seller states that the speedometer needs to be calibrated.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a 496cid big-block V8 and backed by a TREMC TKX five-speed manual transmission. The engine was built by Rex Hutchison Racing Engines of Sacramento, California, and rated at 650 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque. Engine bay features include black valve covers, Air Flow Research heads, an aluminum intake manifold, a Holley four-barrel carburetor with a fuel pressure reducer, a K&N air filter, a serpentine belt engine accessory drive system, a DeWitts aluminum radiator with dual electric fans, a full wiring harness, and Lemons headers equipped with an O2 bung for a future fuel injection system installation. The seller states oil and spark plug changes were completed in September 2023.
