OVERVIEW
This restored 1968 Chevrolet C10 was featured on the cover of the November 1992 issue of Hot Rod magazine. Since being sold on AutoHunter in May 2023, it has reportedly received approximately $13,000 in updates, including new interior components, a new sound system, engine work, and new rear suspension hardware. Power is supplied by a ZZ4 383ci V8 stroker engine and backed by a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission. Features include power steering, power front disc brakes, a molded front roll pan, shaved door handles, Vintage Air air conditioning, and rear air shocks with a new onboard compressor. Finished in teal over a reupholstered saddle vinyl interior, this C10 comes from the selling dealer with a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
During the restoration under previous ownership, the exterior was finished in teal. Features include a molded front roll pan, frenched amber front turn signals, a molded grille shell, colored-matched grille and headlight trim, shaved fender marker lights, a driver-side mirror, and shaved door handles with updated door poppers. Additional features include a shaved cab fuel filler neck, a frenched antenna, a short fleetside pickup bed, bed-mounted Pontiac Trans Am fender vents, shaved bed marker lights, a hinged black vinyl tonneau cover, shaved reverse lights, and wide inner bed fenders. Other custom elements include a relocated fuel tank and battery, a louvered tailgate with a shaved handle, clear taillights, and a molded rear roll pan.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of three-spoke, staggered-width Weld Racing wheels is wrapped in radial tires in the front and 29” x 15.50” Hoosier Pro Street radial tires in the rear.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The dashboard has received a new saddle vinyl pad and the new bench seat and the door panels are covered in saddle vinyl with diamond-quilted inserts. Features include a tilt steering column, push-button start, a floor-mounted billet shifter, power steering and brakes, manual windows, a billet steering wheel with a beige grip, an internal popper for the passenger door, new USB ports, a new center console with cup holders, a glove box-mounted rear air shock switch, and Vintage Air air conditioning. The sound system has been updated with a new touchscreen head unit, a new subwoofer, a new amplifier, and new speakers.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A 120-mph speedometer, a 7K-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure are located in an aluminum panel ahead of the driver. A new battery voltage indicator has been installed. The odometer reads 2,734 miles, which the selling dealer believes is the mileage accrued since the restoration was completed. The true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a recently serviced ZZ4 383ci V8 stroker engine and backed by a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission with a B&M shift kit. Engine bay features include Vortec heads, black valve covers, an aluminum intake manifold, a four-barrel carburetor, a black air cleaner, and an aluminum radiator. A safety inspection has been performed.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This C10 is equipped with an independent front suspension and a narrowed Ford nine-inch solid rear drive axle with a limited-slip differential, air shocks, and a new onboard compressor. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums.
