This 1976 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am is finished in Sterling Silver over a blue vinyl interior and is powered by a matching-numbers 455ci V8 paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. Recent work consists of a new clutch and brakes, as well as a refreshment of the air conditioning system with a new compressor and hoses. Equipment includes air conditioning, power windows, Rallye II wheels, and a radial-tuned suspension. Located in Willis, Texas, this second-generation Trans Am is offered with some factory sales documentation, records of the refurbishment, and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Sterling Silver, which the seller reports is the factory original paint. Two-tone blue Firebird and "455" graphics adorn the hood with the functional scoop. denotes the 455ci engine displacement. From the factory, the all Trans Am's featured a five-piece aero kit consisting of wheel well flares, a front valance, and a ducktail spoiler, all finished to match the body. Dual side-view mirrors are fitted as well, finished matching the body with remote adjustability. Additional Trans Am graphics are found on the front fenders and rear decklid, while the taillamps feature signature Pontiac strikethrough body-colored slats.
Factory 15” Rallye II wheels with Pontiac logo center caps are mounted to BF Goodrich Radial T/A 245/60 raised-white letter tires at all four corners. The car is equipped with Pontiac’s radial-tuned suspension system and power disc brakes in the front.
Blue vinyl bucket seats are separated by a full-length console with an integrated armrest, and the rest of the interior features color-matching carpets, door panels, and dash. Also inside, the optional air conditioning, tilt wheel, and power windows are joined the factory five-button AM radio, passenger-side grab handle above the locking glove compartment, trunk-mounted full-size spare tire, jack, and tools.
Instrumentation is framed by a black three-spoke steering wheel and includes a 100-mph speedometer, tachometer, along with gauges for fuel level, voltage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The gauge bezel features a machine-turned aluminum trim plate. The five-digit odometer reads 59k miles, approximately 500 of which have been added during the seller's six-year ownership. True mileage is unknown.
Power is provided by the original big-block 455ci V8 with 4-barrel carburetor and it is paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox. The clutch and brakes were recently replaced, and an air conditioning service consisting of a new compressor and hoses was performed. The oil is reported to have been changed in the past 300 miles.
Additional undercarriage photos can be found in the gallery.
The sale includes factory sales documentation, records of the refurbishment, and service records from the timeframe of the seller’s ownership.
