Vehicle Story

This 1972 Corvette underwent an aesthetic and mechanical restoration from 2001 to 2005 and is now powered by a rebuilt and modified 350ci V8 mated to a 4-speed manual transmission with a heavy-duty clutch. Engine upgrades include a new wiring harness, aluminum valve and intake covers, a Holley double-pumper carburetor, Mallory ignition, Milodon oil pan, COMP Cams drivetrain, and more. The car is dropped 2" by way of new and refurbished suspension components and is equipped with power steering and brakes, refreshed air conditioning system, and a rebuilt heater with a new core. This C3 has been with the seller 47 years and has a refurbished interior with new wiring and is offered with full documentation of the restoration and a clean Arizona title in the seller's name.

The body is finished in blue with side-exit dual exhaust, and the bumpers, front and rear vents, and the gas door latch have all been re-chromed. A 2'' drop from factory ride height is achieved by using new and refreshed suspension parts, including Energy suspension bushings, KYB "Gas-A-Just" shocks, new sway bars, and new tie rods. Lighting is provided by halogen headlights, and a new front spoiler and front and rear dust shields have been fitted.

Handling is managed by all new steering components and completely overhauled power disc brakes, and the car rides on factory-correct wheels wrapped in Hankook tires.

Bucket seats have been refreshed with new foam and blue leather upholstery and are mounted on rebuilt and repainted frames. The car has a new door, kick panels, carpet, rosewood trim, weatherstripping, car and alarm horns, and all new wiring.

Air conditioning has been converted to a "Freeze 12" system with an all-new compressor, lines, and dryer. Additional interior equipment includes a Kenwood AM/FM cassette stereo, four Polk speakers, and a rebuilt Borg clock. Per the seller, the car's odometer showed 32,510 miles at the time of the restoration, and the odometer currently shows approximately 36k miles. True mileage is unknown.

The 350ci v8 was professionally rebuilt by a local machine shop, at which time the block was boiled, magnafluxed, painted, and balanced. New valves, guides, hard seats, bearings, oil pump and screen, radiator, Optima battery, Mallory ignition, Moroso high-performance plug wires, Holley Street Dominator intake, Holley 700 cfm double pumper carburetor, Hooker metallic-ceramic headers, a 3/4 COMP Cam kit, 10:1 compression-forged pistons, Holley fuel pump, Milodon oil pan and water pump, and much more were added. Additional work consisted of overhauling and resurfacing the heads, re-boring and honing the cylinders, re-grinding the crank, and replacing the alternator with a Powermaster chrome unit.

Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a rebuilt Muncie 4-speed manual transmission with a new heavy-duty clutch and rebuilt and painted rear differential. Other additions consist of a new driveshaft yoke and bushings, U-joints with Zerk fittings, wheel bearings (rear with Zerk fittings), and more. All chassis parts have been cleaned and painted as well.

Handwritten build documentation is shown in gallery photos and will be included with the car.
