RESERVE REMOVED: 454-POWERED 1967 CHEVROLET CHEVELLE SS 396 4-SPEED

OVERVIEW

This 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 Sport Coupe was restored in 2019 and is powered by a 454cid V8 backed by a four-speed manual transmission. Features include a big-block hood, power steering, a digital AM/FM radio, and front disc brakes. Finished in Bolero Red over a red vinyl interior, this Chevelle SS comes from the selling dealer with a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

During the restoration process completed under previous ownership, the body was refinished in the original color of Bolero Red (code R). Features include chrome bumpers, a big-block hood, a fender-mounted antenna, dual rearview mirrors, tinted glass, and a black taillight panel. The selling dealer states that tiny bubbling is present under the windshield. A walk-around video can be seen below.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of silver 15-inch Chevrolet Rally wheels with button-style center caps and stainless steel trim rings is wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

Originally equipped with a black imitation leather bench seat (code 761-A), the cabin is now furnished with red vinyl front bucket seats and a matching rear seat surrounded by red vinyl door panels and trim. Features include manual windows, power steering, a tilt steering column, a sport steering wheel with a wood rim, a center console-mounted manual transmission shifter, and a digital AM/FM radio.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 120-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, voltage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature are located ahead of the driver. A Sunpro 8,000-rpm tachometer is mounted to the steering column. A rally clock is located behind the shifter. The odometer reads 5,962 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Originally equipped with a 396cid V8 backed by an M20 four-speed manual transmission (code L), this Chevelle is currently powered by a 454cid V8 connected to a four-speed manual transmission. Engine bay features include chrome valve covers, an aluminum intake manifold, a Holley four-barrel carburetor, headers, and a chrome air cleaner housing. A vehicle inspection was recently completed. The selling dealer states that the steering shaft sometime catches on an exhaust header and the header will need to be adjusted.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Chevelle is equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid 12-bolt rear drive axle with a limited-slip differential. Braking is provided by manual front disc brakes and rear drums. A dual exhaust system exits behind the rear tires.
