This 1937 Chevrolet Coupe custom is an all-steel, award-winning build completed in 2012 and has been with the same family for most of its life. Power is provided by an LS1 5.7-liter V8 paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission, modifications include a lowered suspension, Wilwood brakes, and a stainless-steel dual exhaust system. This Coupe is finished in GM Sport Red finish over tan leather and is offered with build records and a clear Missouri title in the seller’s name.
The all-steel body car was a winner of "Best Paint" at the Kansas City, Missouri “World of Wheels” show and is finished in Sport Red (GM Code 817K) with silver and copper pinstriping. Exterior features consist of a color-matching grille and headlight surrounds, running boards, slim side-view mirrors, and stainless-steel dual exhaust ports. A hidden switch inside the fuel door operates the power trunk lid.
American Racing 5-spoke polished aluminum wheels are wrapped in Nitto NT450 Extreme Performance tires. Deceleration and handling are provided by Wilwood 4-wheel power disc brakes and power steering. The brakes were bled in the fall of 2020.
The interior is trimmed in custom Light Driftwood leather with tan carpet and a fully lined trunk. Upgrades include air conditioning, power bucket seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, power windows, an Auto Tech keyless entry system with two fobs, a center console with integrated cup holders, and an armrest.
Instrumentation includes a cluster of white-faced aftermarket gauges framed by an aluminum bezel. Approximately 400 miles have been added since the build was completed.
Power comes from a painted and professionally-installed fuel-injected LS1 5.7-liter V8 paired with a 4L60 E 4-speed automatic transmission and Ford 8.8 rear end. The car is equipped with a battery kill switch, and a new battery was installed in November 2020.
A stainless-steel triangulated 4-link suspension is fitted with a Smitty stainless-steel independent suspension up front and an adjustable Air Ride Technologies setup in the rear.
Records from the build, including wiring diagrams and other documentation, will go with the car.
