Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This 1953 GMC pickup has received fresh paint as well as body modifications and an overhauled interior. It is powered by a 350cid V8 backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include a chopped top, shaved door handles, a hinged bed cover, a tilt steering column, a Pioneer AM/FM stereo, a Vintage Air climate control system, power steering, a Mustang II-style independent front suspension, and power front disc brakes. Finished in dark blue over a black vinyl interior, this GMC comes from the selling dealer with a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The body is finished in blue pearl over black. Features include a tucked front bumper, a chrome grille, frenched headlights, a shaved hood, a chopped top, shaved door handles with keyless entry, a step-side bed, a hinged black vinyl bed cover, a carpeted bed, a molded tailgate, custom taillights, and a rear roll pan.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 18-inch Ridler five-spoke wheels is wrapped in Ironman radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The cabin is furnished with a diamond-quilted black vinyl power-adjustable bench seat surrounded by diamond-quilted black vinyl door panels and black trim. Features include power windows, a tilt steering column-mounted automatic transmission shifter, power steering, a Vintage Air climate control system, a Pioneer AM/FM radio, and black carpeting. 

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A set of VDO instruments that includes a 120-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, water temperature, oil pressure, and voltage are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 22,790 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 350cid V8 and backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. Engine bay features include chrome valve covers, an aluminum intake manifold, a chrome air cleaner housing, a dual-circuit power brake master cylinder, and tube exhaust headers.

UNDERCARRIAGE

The chassis is equipped with a Mustang II-style independent front suspension with power rack-and-pinion steering, and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear. A video of the undercarriage can be seen below.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The serial number tag is attached to the truck with non-original rivets and has a number (5KPE12344) that corresponds to a 1952 Chevrolet 3100.
