OVERVIEW
This restored 1968 Chevrolet El Camino SS 396 has received new paint and several upgrades including Boyd Coddington wheels, Toyo tires, and late-model bucket seats. It is powered by the reportedly numbers-matching and rebuilt 396cid V8 backed by a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission. Features include power steering, a tilt steering column, power windows, a vintage-look AM/FM/cassette radio, a center console, and power brakes. Finished in burgundy metallic over a black leather interior, this El Camino comes from the selling dealer with a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The reportedly rust-free body has been refinished in burgundy metallic. Features include chrome bumpers, a black grille with bright trim, SS emblems, a big-block hood, a fender-mounted antenna, and rocker, wheel well, and tailgate trim.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of 18-inch Boyd Coddington polished aluminum wheels is wrapped in 275/35ZR18 front and 295/35ZR18 rear Toyo Proxes radial tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cabin is furnished with updated black leather bucket seats. Features include power windows and steering, a tilt steering column, a center console-mounted automatic transmission shifter, air conditioning, and a vintage-look AM/FM/cassette stereo with kick panel-mounted speakers. The selling dealer states that the air conditioning system does not blow cold.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A 120-mph speedometer, a 7,000-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, temperature, and battery are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 80,036 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by the reportedly numbers-matching and rebuilt 396cid V8 and backed by a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission. According to the selling dealer, the engine has accrued less than 1,000 miles since being rebuilt. Engine bay features include polished aluminum valve covers, a polished aluminum Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, and a polished aluminum air cleaner housing.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This El Camino was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by power drums. A dual exhaust system exits behind the rear tires.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The selling dealer charges a $65 documentation fee in addition to the selling price of the vehicle.

@ExoticLiquidators – is there any auction fee on top of the bidding amount do you add any taxes ...
We charge a $65.00 doc fee.. if you are a licensed dealer or out of California buyer we will not charge sales tax or license fees. For non dealers we would need a Bill of lading from a licensed carrier showing an out of state delivery address. Any fees that Autohunter charges is separate for the fees/taxes described and would be collected by Autohunter directly from you.

This was a frame-off restoration.
I have uploaded a photo of the numbers/letters stamped on the upper part of the engine block. Engine code shows as EU which decodes as 350HP.
I'll check.
Factory 325HP?
The Air Conditioning may only need a recharge to work properly. Other than that the El Camino is in good order. Extensive receipts are available to document the restoration. We welcome an in-person or third party vehicle inspection for interested bidders. Also I'll check on the video upload file quality with Autohunter.
A cold start video and a driving video should be available soon.
The A/C does not currently work. I will post some video of the El Camino soon.
Does everything function properly on the El Camino including the A/C system? Do you have a video of the car driving/running that you can send me? Thanks
