This Eldorado has been with the selling dealer for approximately six months and is offered with a clear Minnesota title.
The Light Blue Metallic finish is noted to be driver quality per the selling dealer, and it is complemented by a dark blue vinyl top and three-quarter-length pinstripes. Hideaway headlamps are featured up front, stainless steel on each rocker panel, and dual exhaust tips at the rear.
Factory 15” steel wheels are fitted with aluminum covers and wrapped with whitewall tires.
Interior features include black vinyl with matching door panels, dash and carpet, power windows, doors, locks, and seats, an automatic climate control system with factory air conditioning, and the original five-button AM/FM stereo.
Instrumentation is framed by a black 3-spoke tilt/telescoping steering wheel and includes a 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. Last of the 'small' body Eldo's. This is a beautiful example of GM's prime time front wheel drive vehicle creation. This power plant was also used in front wheel drive motor homes, such as Revcon due to the heavy duty nature of the TH425 transmission and power of the engine. Massive axles, front end components engineered for the weight and a sumptuous interior created a joy to drive and power to spare. Interior appointments were stellar and creature comforts were top of the line and industry leading. The Olds Toronado and Buick cars all used the same platform with different badges to appeal to different audiences. While working at at a shop, I remember putting a TH400 sprag in a TH425 or was it a TH425 sprag in a TH400. What fun we all had when it went into 2nd. A lot of labor for a joke and there you have it. Always check the rotation of your one-way clutch BEFORE you install it in the transmission. As a GM Master teck, I would frequently add pieces to rookies exploded transmissions at the GM training center in Tigard, Oregon. Unsuspecting, they would desperately try and find where it went while I watched from afar with ornery glee. The instructor always knew it was me, wonder how? I once saw this powertrain installed in the rear of a Corvair. It seemed like the car was bulging everywhere with anticipatory devilish patience. Saddle up and lets do some wheel stands, crash through the neighbors fence backwards and end up rear end first and shiny-side down in the neighbors new pool......
