Vehicle Story

This 1967 Oldsmobile 442 hardtop coupe is a mechanically-sorted, largely original car with a period-correct 400ci V8 motor and Muncie M20 4-speed manual transmission.  This 442 is finished in blue metallic, offset by a reupholstered black vinyl roof, and it has been professionally repainted.  Located in Annandale, Minnesota, this 442 is now offered on a clean Minnesota title by the selling dealer.

The car is painted blue metallic with silver pinstripes along the side and equipped with a black vinyl roof.  The bumpers, grille, and trim moldings are in stainless-steel or chrome and are in excellent condition.  The car has quad headlamps as is badged as a 442 model by correct emblems throughout the exterior.  A full-width black trim panel with Oldsmobile emblems is featured across the rear, and the vehicle has dual polished exhaust tips exiting at the corners of the back bumper.

Factory 14” 5-spoke wheels are mounted to redline tires on all four corners.  The car is equipped with power disc brakes up front.

The interior is fitted with black carpeting and black vinyl bucket seats, along with matching door panels. A center console is mounted between the seats, which houses the shifter for the 4-speed manual transmission and the dash is trimmed in an aluminum accent panel.  The car features a heater, an ashtray, and a factory-original push-button stereo system.

Instrumentation is framed by a 3-spoke steering wheel and includes a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level.  An analog clock is also included within the cluster.  The 5-digit mechanical odometer reads 86k miles, and true mileage is unknown.

The 400ci V8 is not original to the vehicle but is period-correct, and it resides in a matte black painted engine bay.  The engine has a four-barrel carburetor and was factory-rated at 350 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque when new.  It also has a chrome-finished air cleaner with a 4-4-2 decal present.  Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a Muncie M20 4-speed manual transmission with a console-mounted shift lever.

The trunk contains a full-size spare tire and is lined with a factory-style mat.
