Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This 1978 Dodge D100 Custom pickup has been modified with a color-matched front bumper, a black grille, a tonneau cover, and 17-inch Ridler wheels. Equipment includes power steering, a JVC AM/FM/CD radio, and power brakes. Power comes from a 342cid V8 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. Finished in red over an ivory vinyl interior, this third-generation D-series pickup is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The red paint was applied under prior ownership and ties in with the color-keyed front bumper and rear roll pan. Features include a satin black grille, LED headlights, Custom badges, side mirrors, a sliding rear window, a snap-in vinyl tonneau cover, and a spray-in bedliner.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

Ridler 17-inch five-spoke chrome wheels are wrapped in Z-rated 245/40 Toyo tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The interior of the cab is fitted with an ivory vinyl bench seat, matching door panels, and contrasting black lap belts and carpeting. Features include manual-crank windows, power steering, a JVC AM/FM/CD audio system, and floor mats.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

Instrumentation is housed within a woodgrain bezel and includes an 85-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 40,777 miles, although the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The non-original 342cid V8 has been upgraded with an aluminum radiator and breathes through a chrome-finished Holley air cleaner. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a column-shifted three-speed automatic transmission.

UNDERCARRIAGE

Stopping is performed by power disc brakes up front and drums in the back.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

This Dodge pickup previously appeared on AutoHunter in December 2023. It is now being relisted at a lower reserve price than before. The dealer has provided a video showing the exterior, interior, and engine bay as well as a start-up and a drive-away.

@Jumpinjerry – Never had ac? ...

Hello, thank you for your interest. This truck doesn't have A/C currently and not sure that it ever did have it. You could always add A/C, the kits are pretty accessible these days, plenty of room to add it too! Happy bidding and good luck.
