OVERVIEW
This 1987 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Aero Coupe is one of 6,052 total units produced for its model year. It is powered by an unmodified 5.0-liter High Output V8 mated to a 200-4R four-speed automatic transmission. Features include NASCAR-inspired body lines, Cooper Cobra tires, power steering, air conditioning, power front disc brakes, and the F41 Sport Suspension. Finished in White over a Maroon cloth interior, this fourth-generation Monte Carlo SS is now offered by the selling dealer with a clean CARFAX report and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The White exterior is complemented by red SS decals and matching perimeter striping. Features include quad headlights in black bezels, an antenna, body-color mirror caps, an Aero Coupe-specific sloping backlight and deck lid, a spoiler, and a dual exhaust system.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
The 15-inch five-spoke wheels are wrapped in 255/60 Cooper Cobra Radial G/T raised-white-letter tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cabin is fitted with Maroon cloth bucket seats up front, a bench in the rear, and matching materials for the door panels, dash, center console, headliner, carpeting, and floor mats. Features include power windows, power door locks, power steering, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a Delco AM/FM/cassette radio, and air conditioning.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A 120-mph speedometer, a 6,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage are located ahead of the driver. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 12,931 miles. An odometer reading of 68,261 was recorded on the CARFAX report in 1997.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The four-barrel carbureted 5.0-liter High Output V8 was rated at 180 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is transferred to the back wheels via a console-shifted 200-4R four-speed automatic overdrive transmission and a 3.73:1 rear end.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The F41 Sport Suspension, a front stabilizer bar, and gas shocks came standard on SS models. Stopping is performed by power front disc and rear drum brakes.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The CARFAX report begins in 1988 and shows accident-free ownership in Oklahoma, Texas, and Illinois.

What’s the reserve price
@powertourpacer – I got confused about who is auctioning the car...is there a fee to be paid to Gateway Classic Cars as they normally charge? What is ALL fees to be paid if there is a winner to this auction? Thank you. ...
No problem, sorry for the confusion. Gateway Classic Cars is handling the transaction for the owner of the vehicle via consignment and decided to use AutoHunter auctions as one of the the many online platforms for marketing. AutoHunter charges a 6.5% fee for the winning bidder above reserve. You would also still have your title, tax, and local registration fees, this would be collected by GCC unless you are in another state and shipping the vehicle. Really depends on your particular situation that we will happily work through together if anyone meets the reserve price. Thank you.

@ZK4950zk – I want it I’ll pay 10k ...
Hello, thank you for your interest! This vehicle is being sold on consignment through Gateway Classic Cars, we do have to honor the auction and let it finish to see if someone bids higher. There is also an AutoHunter % that is collected by them first for the highest bidder over reserve. Happy to have the showroom reach out to discuss the vehicle in more detail though!

@rnichols46 – is the rust underneath extensive or needs cleaning what is an aero coupe is it a factory ss ...
Hello, please scroll down in the comments to see attritional undercarriage pictures! This is an SS and yes an Aero coupe is a factory option. The Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe was unveiled in 1986 as a new homologation model based closely on the pre-existing Monte Carlo SS. The most obvious external change was the addition of a long sloped rear glass section giving the car a fastback roofline for better high speed aerodynamics. In 1987, Chevrolet produced only 6,052 Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupes.

Hello, thank you for your interest! Combination of both! This Aero Coupe has low miles but has been driven and shows minor surface corrosion, no rust holes! Please check out the additional pictures below.
