Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This frame-off-restored 1962 Chevrolet Corvette is powered by a non-original 327cid V8 backed by the reportedly original and rebuilt four-speed manual transmission. Features include a Vintage Air climate control system, a Wonder Bar AM radio, a rebuilt instrument cluster, and a factory tachometer. Finished in black and equipped with a manual black vinyl convertible top over a black vinyl interior, this Corvette comes from the selling dealer with a black removable hardtop and a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

As part of the frame-off restoration, the fiberglass body was coated with epoxy primer, black paint, and clearcoat, all of which were reportedly from Axalta (formerly known as DuPont). Features include chrome bumpers, dual rearview mirrors, rocker moldings, a manual black vinyl convertible top, and a rear antenna.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of black steel 15-inch wheels with full hubcaps is wrapped in 205/75R15 Cooper Trendsetter SE whitewall radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The cabin is furnished with black vinyl bucket seats surrounded by black vinyl door panels and trim. Features include manual windows and steering, a floor-mounted manual transmission shifter, newer wiring, a Vintage Air climate control system with air conditioning, and a Wonder Bar AM radio.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

The rebuilt instrument cluster consists of a 160-mph speedometer, a 7,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, battery, and temperature. A clock is mounted under the dashboard. The odometer reads 1,155 miles, which reflects the mileage accrued since the restoration was completed.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The original 340-horsepower 327cid V8 has been replaced with a 300-horsepower 327cid V8, which is backed by the car's reportedly original and rebuilt four-speed manual transmission. According to the selling dealer, the engine is correctly numbered and has a casting date that matches the manufacture date, month, and factory of the car itself. Engine bay features include finned aluminum Corvette valve covers, an Edelbrock Performer EPS intake manifold, a four-barrel carburetor, and a chrome air cleaner housing.

UNDERCARRIAGE

The frame was sandblasted, primed, and painted and new manual drum brakes and a new fuel tank were installed during the restoration process. In addition, the hardware for the front and rear suspensions was replaced. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

A black removable hardtop will come with the purchase of the vehicle.
