This 1955 Ford Crown Victoria is a custom example that has been in the California seller's private collection for 20 years. It is powered by a 350ci V8 professionally bored to 383ci paired with a rebuilt 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission, and other upgrades include a performance cam, Holley 4-barrel carburetor, dual exhaust, and a modern sound system. The car was refinished in its original two-tone red and white in 2015. This Crown Victoria is offered with a mileage logbook, service records, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The exterior was professionally repainted in the original two-tone red and white scheme in 2015, and it is complemented by chrome and stainless steel trim. Iconic features include fender skirts, rounded taillamps, and tailfins, and all badges are present. The seller notes there is no known surface rust or corrosion.
15” Rallye wheels are fitted with chrome hubcaps and wrapped in Cooper Cobra tires. Upgrades consist of power steering, power brakes, and a 1980s Camaro clip.
The interior is trimmed in reupholstered red and white vinyl with matching dash, door panels and red carpeting. An aftermarket radio is mounted inside the glove compartment and a spare tire and associated jack equipment are located in the trunk.
Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature, warning lamps for oil pressure and voltage, and an analog clock resides in the lower dash. The odometer has not worked since the seller purchased the car 20 years ago and reads 59,600. A logbook documenting each of the 18k miles driven in the past two decades will be presented to the buyer. Per the seller, the car has been driven every four to five days since 2010, along with an annual 750-mile road trip from Los Angeles to Laughlin, Nevada.
Power comes from a 1980 donor 350ci with a cam that has been professionally stroked and bored to 383ci and upgraded with a performance camshaft and a 4-barrel Holley carburetor. Thrust is transferred to the rear wheels via a rebuilt 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission and a Big 10" positraction rear end. The car is equipped with power steering and power brakes.
Additional undercarriage photos can be found in the gallery.
A detailed mileage logbook and 20 years of service records will go with the car.
AUTOHUNTER ADMIN UPDATE 3/22/21 10:20 PDT: The car is equipped with power steering and power brakes, the listing has been amended to state that.

....better than chrome.... the crown is stainless steel. Yes....solid driver with no shimmy or vibration. It’s a few inches lower than stock which adds to its aerodynamic quality on the freeway.
Seems an excellent driver from this vantage point. Love the chrome comb-over on this vintage. GLWTS!

This car is not a “show car/ trailer queen.” The body IS excellent, but looks is not it’s most redeeming quality. This car is a beast on the freeway - that’s what it was built for by one of the best in L. A. I’ve never “floored it,” but it cruises at 80 plus with ease - with the 6.2 L and overdrive transmission... it would do a lot more. The guy that built this car ( a chevy guy - that’s why entire drive train is 80’s Chevy ), said that this Ford ‘s chassis “is much better built / much stronger than tri-5 chevys.” It’s more aerodynamically streamline therefore a great driver.
