OVERVIEW
This modified 2006 Pontiac GTO has been exclusively Texas-owned and has been driven about 76,000 miles since new. It has been equipped with $7,000 in upgrades over the last year under the seller’s ownership and receives power from an LS2 6.0-liter V8 mated to a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes hood scoops, a carbon fiber rear spoiler, a Borla exhaust system, custom wheels, an Alpine audio system, an engine tune, and a performance camshaft. Finished in slate gray over a reupholstered black leather interior, this fifth-generation GTO is now offered with a clean CARFAX report and a clear title in the seller’s name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The slate gray exterior features an underbody aero kit on the front, sides, and rear. Additional equipment includes fog lamps, black-painted hood scoops, custom badging, a carbon fiber rear spoiler, a gloss black rear deck lid panel, and dual outlets coming from the Borla exhaust system.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Satin black multi-spoke aluminum wheels are wrapped in low-profile tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The four-passenger interior is trimmed with reupholstered black leather power-adjustable bucket seats up front, reupholstered black leather seats in the rear, and matching appointments for the door panels, dash, center console, carpeting, and GTO-branded floor mats. Features include GTO embroidery, tinted power windows, power door locks, cruise control, variable-assist power steering, a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel, air conditioning, an Alpine touchscreen stereo, a Hinson Motorsports shift knob, dual illuminated vanity mirrors, and aluminum sport pedals.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a 200-mph speedometer, a 7,000+-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature. The digital odometer reads approximately 76,000 miles. The most recent figure recorded on the CARFAX report was 76,496 miles in January 2024.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The LS2 6.0-liter V8 was factory-rated at 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. After being fitted with a tune and a larger camshaft, it was dyno-tested in 2023 and shown to produce 410 horsepower at the rear wheels. The hood insulator and valve covers are custom. Recent service included an inspection, an oil change, and the replacement of the battery, battery cables, and air filter. Historical maintenance per the CARFAX report includes a coolant change in 2023. According to the seller, an oil change and an inspection were completed in January 2024. Output is directed to the back wheels via a console-shifted six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential with a 3.46:1 final drive ratio.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Handling comes from a four-wheel independent suspension with stabilizer bars. Braking is provided by ventilated anti-lock discs with red calipers.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
This GTO previously appeared on AutoHunter in February 2024, but it is now being relisted at a lower reserve price than before. The CARFAX report begins in 2006 and shows accident-free ownership in Texas since new. The car failed a Texas emissions inspection in November 2023 due to the engine tune. As of January 2024 it has passed all emissions and is street legal.

When was it repainted. Note the paint looks to have some purple pearl in it or something like that.

You stated that the RESERVE has been lowered this time around. What is the RESERVE now? Thx for your support 😁

@CorvetteGuru – Nice looking car! A warning to potential CA buyers... the cam is one thing, but the tune is a problem. CARB has started comparing engine tune data to expected norms. This means a major change could flunk you, unless it was done by a factory recall or update. A performance tune is a real killer. What you need to do is get a preserved OEM tune, store it, then copy and save the tune on the PCM, and swap them when it is time to do a smog check. You most likely will have to drive the car some 40-50 miles to give it the necessary data to satisfy the test process. When done, reset to the custom tune. ...
I wouldnt sell to a CA buyer anyway... LOL
@CorvetteGuru – from the listing header at the top of the page, it is in Colleyville, Texas 76034. ...
Thanks CorvetteGuru.
@JeffroB – I now see at the end of the write up that the car failed smog in November 2023, but passed in January 2024 . . does that mean the engine tune was removed (but the camshaft left intact) and is the engine tuning relatively easy to reestablish if we would like that performance upgrade here in California?🤔 ...
No it means that It needed a new air sensor. The Tune is still in place.
@GGVH2890126 – Please respond to my question. Thx 😊 ...
