Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS Coupe has accrued approximately 500 miles since receiving a frame-off restoration that included new paint, a new tachometer, components from H&H Classic Parts, and a Holley Sniper fuel injection system. It is powered by a rebuilt 96 Vortec backed by a rebuilt 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission. Features include power steering, a vintage-look AM/FM radio, air conditioning, and power front disc brakes. Finished in red and silver over a red vinyl interior, this Impala Super Sport Coupe comes with restoration receipts and a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

As part of the frame-off restoration completed in January 2024, the reportedly rust- and filler-free body was refinished in red and silver. Features include chrome bumpers, dual rearview mirrors, tinted windows, Impala side trim, dual rear antennas, and Impala SS emblems.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 20-inch five-spoke polished aluminum wheels is wrapped in low-profile radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The cabin is furnished with a red vinyl front bench seat and a matching rear seat surrounded by red vinyl door panels and trim, and new cranberry red carpeting. Features include manual windows, power steering, a floor-mounted automatic transmission shifter, air conditioning, and a vintage-look AM/FM radio.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 120-mph speedometer, a new tachometer, a fuel gauge, and warning lights are located ahead of the driver. With approximately 500 miles added since the restoration was completed, the odometer reads 12,917 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a rebuilt96 Vortec and backed by a rebuilt 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission. Engine bay features include black valve covers, an aluminum intake manifold, a Holley Sniper fuel injection system, a chrome Edelbrock air cleaner housing, an aluminum radiator, tube exhaust headers, and a dual-circuit power brake master cylinder.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Impala was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The seller will include restoration receipts as part of the sale.

No, my Impala SS is far from "True". This frame off restoration has many upgrades. Front wheel disc brakes, power steering, air conditioning, Snipper fuel injection and many other things that makes this one of a kind Impala SS a driving pleasure. Dale Race Restorations asked why I wanted to install a bench seat. I told him about the 1964 Impala SS convertible I had when I started dating my wife that had a bench seat and a chrome knob on the floor shift. My son wanted to allow his mom and dad to relive moments of the past. Now my wife can sit next to me with my arm around her as we listen to the radio, driving to Sonic for a Coke just as we did back in 1969. Good Times We went to a car show Saturday and my son took some pictures.

@ConveyorMan – Any left over material to reupholster head rests & trunk back panel? ...

No, sorry there isn't any left over material to reupholster head rests & trunk back panel. When I got my Impala from the first restorer, Dale Restorations, he gave me a spare set of headrest with the same material. But, after going to three more restorers they got lost along the way with the back-up camera and remote start. After all the time and money, I just say "Oh Well", my Impala turned out pretty good anyway.

My son and his wife along with me and my wife have had a wonderful day. I need to update my total mileage to 13140 miles. It got up to 88 degrees today and the air conditioner blowing that cold air into the back seat made our trip "Prefect". My son did all the driving that gave his mother and I time for a very nice nap. We stopped on the way back for a mighty fine hamburger and fries that made the trip back without another nap impossible. I enjoyed the second nap even more than the first. I had my son take some pictures at the car show for me to post. We just made some more fantastic memories

@Cjcope76 – Very nice!!! #dreams ...

Thank you very much. When the restoration was completed my wife and I have relived memories of the past of sitting next to each other enjoying this unique one of a kind beautiful red Impala SS. I will need to update the mileage when we get back from the car show today. My son is driving his mother and I because my driving days are almost over. When we decided it was time to sell our car, I tried but failed to explain to my wife that we were unable to sell the Impala for total investment of $82,000.00 and that classic restoration is a business service, not a for profit hobby. The cost of the restoration was for us to enjoy and not so much to add value for resale.

@Mikebonjon – Engine size CID??? ...

I just got off the cell with BR Motorsports. I want to apologize for my misunderstand about having a LS 350. I wanted to make sure I was giving the correct information. I am not sure about the spelling but my '64 Impala has a new crate 350 CID 96 Vortec engine with a snipper fuel injection system and a rebuilt 700R4 automatic transmission. After putting everything all together, this 1964 Impala SS is a driving dream.
