OVERVIEW
This 2007 Ford Mustang Shelby GT coupe has been owned by the seller since 2009 and receives power from a Modular 4.6-liter V8 mated to a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. It was upgraded when new by Shelby Automobiles (now Shelby American) and comes equipped with a hood scoop, a rear spoiler, a Shaker 500 audio system, a cold-air intake, a tuned X-pipe exhaust system, and a tuned and lowered suspension. Finished in black with silver striping over a Dark Charcoal leather interior, this S197 Mustang is now offered with an owner’s manual, a CARFAX report, and a clear title in the seller’s name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The exterior was refinished in the original black with silver accent striping in 2022 under the seller’s ownership. Features include a billet grille, Mustang GT/CS-based front and rear fascias, a hood scoop, hood pins, Shelby GT rocker decals, side scoops, a rear spoiler, and dual outlets connected to the tuned X-pipe exhaust system.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
The 18-inch Shelby GT500KR (“King of the Road”) forged aluminum wheels from Alcoa are wrapped in 235/50 Toyo Extensa front and 285/40 Goodyear Eagle F1 rear tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cockpit is fitted with Dark Charcoal leather bucket seats up front, seating for two in the rear, and color-coordinated materials for the door panels, dash, center console, carpeting, and floor mats. Features include Shelby GT aluminum door sill plates, tinted power windows, power locks, power steering, cruise control, a Shelby Automobiles dash placard, a Shaker 500 AM/FM/CD audio system, air conditioning, a custom shift knob, and a Hurst short-throw shifter.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer, an 8,000-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The digital odometer reads 74,706 miles, which lines up with the most recent figure of 73,270 miles recorded on the CARFAX report in 2023.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The Modular 4.6-liter V8 was upgraded by Shelby with a 90mm cold-air intake and a 91-octane fuel system calibration. The resulting output ratings were 319 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque. An oil change was performed within the last 1,600 miles; a tune-up was completed at 70,000 miles, per the seller. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a console-shifted five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The Shelby GT treatment added a Ford Racing Handling Package that lowered the car by 1.5 inches compared to a Mustang GT and included front and rear sway bars, a strut tower brace, and tuned dampers, springs, and bushings. The shock absorbers and brakes were replaced in 2022, according to the seller.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
According to the seller, this Shelby GT is #5,242 out of 5,651 produced for the 2007 model year. The CARFAX report begins in 2007 and shows ownership in Georgia and Texas. A Texas safety inspection was performed in 2023. Minor damage involving the front passenger-side corner of the vehicle was reported in 2019. The car will come with an owner’s manual.

@Coolbreeze – Hi, I am interested in your car, I am 74 years old have never owned anything like your car. Don't know anything about mechanics. Is this a car that I would have to continue to put money in for repairs to keep it running like it is. I would only use it for weekend drives. Is there anything wrong with it at this time. Please be honest with me, this something I always wanted to have. Thank you. Be blessed, Ronnie ...
Hey Ronnie Car is in great condition Has been taken excellent care of and runs great. We just retired and will be moving to the lake so we just don't drive it as much anymore and don't want it to sit in the garage. Excellent mechanical condition. It's ready to roll and enjoy.
